“CSI: Vegas,” the sequel and revival of CBS’ iconic forensics procedural, attracted 3.97 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the key, ages 18-49 target demographic in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day overnight fast nationals— not exactly the primetime behemoth of its predecessor, but then again, the TV landscape and the way we consume content on-screen has changed drastically since the final episode of “CSI” aired in 2015. Per NetBase, “CSI: Vegas” drove over 1.4 billion potential impressions on social media last night and had over 18k mentions.
Though “CSI: Vegas” was up 54% from last year’s same time-period premiere (the 10 p.m. window), it was no match for the dominant “Chicago” trio from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment on NBC. The Wednesday primetime ratings juggernaut, which often trumps its three-hour time block, was top of the night per usual— “Med” at 8 p.m. scored a 0.8 rating in the key demo and 6.74 million viewers,...

With the historic Season 23 of Big Brother now a thing of the past, it seems that CBS continues to get along well with Survivor at the top of primetime. On Wednesday, Survivor brought in a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.56 million viewers, marking the evening’s highest-rated program. The competition series was stable from last week, when it tied with The Masked Singer in demo rating.
Tying with The Masked Singer this week was Chicago Med on NBC, which seems to have set the rest of the Chicago trio with a good enough foundation to remain steady. While Chicago Med rose in both demo rating and viewers, Chicago Fire climbed up one tenth in rating from last week and drew in the evening’s most viewers.
Later in the evening, Chicago P.D. saw a sizable drop in viewers from its lead-in but won its time...

Big Brother wrapped up its 23rd Season with a history-making moment. The CBS competition series crowed its first Black winner as Wisconsin attorney Xavier Prather walked away victorious. Per fast nationals, Big Brother‘s two-hour Season 23 finale earned a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.47M, placing it in a three-way ratings tie with The Masked Singer and Survivor in the previous hour, which both dipped slightly from last Thursday.
Despite the show’s historical moment, the Season 23 finale slipped one tenth in demo rating and approximately 13% in viewership from its season opener in July. Wednesday’s show was also down from the Season 22 finale.
Taking in the most viewers of Wednesday primetime was the latest episode of Chicago Fire on NBC. The 9 p.m. drama gave NBC enough of a pop in the second primetime hour for 10 o’clock’s Chicago P.D. to...

Fox’s Alter Ego has set its judges. Alanis Morissette, Grimes, Nick Lachey & will.iam are to join the judges table of the new Fox music format with Rocsi Diaz set as host.
The show, which will air after The Masked Singer on the fall schedule, is an avatar singing competition that will see singers become stars performing as their dream reinventions. It is exec produced by Matilda Zoltowski and is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment.
It is a slightly unexpected lineup. While Lachey co-hosted Love Is Blind and was featured on Fox’s The Masked Singer, and will.i.am serves as a coach on the UK version of The Voice, Morissette and Grimes are making their network competition judging debuts.
Morissette, best known for her Jagged Little Pill album, has history with Fox, having recurred on animated series The Great North. Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, recently released...
