Some nice stuff on display here, although not enough sadly and most of what we get concerns the Ramsay kids. The characterisation remains erratic and probably only works because we don't know them that well. Kate and Sophie scattering Jill's ashes while Harry just stands there is a nice moment as is Kate berating him for making things harder. We seem to be being drip fed details about the family's history rather than someone sitting down and making a coherent picture of where they've been and how they got here, which is confusing for the casual viewer and not much more helpful for the committed one.Harry's turnaround isn't that easy to understand but it's nice to see his softer side come out in his scene with Sophie and then his decision to help Kate, who's back to looking like the less mature one as she bosses him around while he just smiles.
The recap seems to be implying Lucas has a gambling problem, even though there's no real evidence in the actual episodes. He does seem uncomfortable with Elle and his claim that he just needs to get out of the house might be true.If he really is considering a career as a pool hustler, he probably should have chosen meeker victims than the ones we see here.
Which brings us to the Kennedy nonsense.Libby's bewildered cries of "It's Mum!" are amusing and Kym Valentine puts in a nice performance in the first scene where Libby seems to be trying hard not to tell Susan she's crazy. But then, inevitably, she changes her mind. And Susan once more displays the maturity of a five-year-old by throwing something Karl did three years ago back in his face because he won't let her have her own way.He deserves better frankly but the fact she gets the last close-up suggests we're somehow supposed to agree with her.
