Well done all around, a somewhat bleak tale of the early unified German state, complete with the grimness of the old GDR and the unrestrained opportunism of both east and west. Music and settings are masterful and evocative. The techno music and dance scene are very enjoyable. Period correct cars, buildings, a joyless hotel, phones and plumbing that never have worked but will be fixed "tomorrow" (and the passivity of those who must accept that), the remnants of GDR bureaucracy, near vacant streets, the communal spirit of mutual struggle in the east vs the harsh, laughing judgement of the west.
