Mixed up feelings

I liked the episode from one hand. It was interesting and full of tension, not like the mostly-boring episode before him. The problem for me is that it's not so reliable. A lot of things in the actions and deeds of Colin didn't make sense. Wasn't he supposed to convince her not to return him to jail? And in the end - how brook tells him that their time is done - I thought it was cruel and it doesn't make sense that a real therapist would act like this. Yes, we all hate him in the end for how he lied to his ex wife. Still, that's how therapists should say their goodbye to a patient? Not with at least some advice for the future? (even "stop lying to other people" would be nice). That's why I think the writing is not so good this season and it's unfortunate cause the actors and the stories deserved much more.
