“ER” producer Neal Baer is among the creatives teaming with Endemol Shine North America’s Authentic Entertainment on a new unscripted series entitled “The Mystery of the 1957 Gay Wedding Photos.”
The series investigates a collection of photos which are among the first to document a gay wedding in the U.S., printed circa 1957 at a neighborhood drugstore in North Philadelphia. Filmmaker P.J. Palmer and writer Michael J. Wolfe are also developing the project with Baer.
The images capture special moments between two men tying the knot, including an exchange of rings in front of witnesses, an officiant leading the ceremony, and the first kiss. The owner of the drugstore allegedly judged the photos to be inappropriate and refused to return them to the wedding couple and now, some 60 years later, the images have resurfaced and have left people searching for answers as to who the men are.

“Queer Eye” is back for a 2018 reboot on Netflix, but since it features an all new cast, audiences may find themselves pining for the original, Emmy-winning Fab 5: Ted Allen, Carson Kressley, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez. Here’s what they’ve been up to since the original series ended back in 2007.
Ted Allen
Ted Allen was “Queer Eye’s” food and wine expert, so it’s no surprise that he’s the host for the Food Network’s popular show “Chopped.” He’s also a frequent contributor to “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” and has written two cookbooks.
Carson Kressley
Carson Kressley was “Queer Eye’s” fashion expert, and he’s continued to work in fashion with his line of clothing for QVC. He’s hosted and judged several reality shows, including Lifetime’s “How to Look Good Naked,” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” He was...

As the TV & Film Department Editor at The Donnybrook Writing Academy, I've covered the Simmons-judged food competition series Top Chef for the past few years now, so cracking her book open and giving it a read seemed like a logical choice for my first foray into Book Reviewing, especially given the fact that I also catch Gail on the Food Network show The Best Thing I Ever Ate -- I know, I watch too much television, hey, it's my job! But I'm also well-read, I swear. Don't judge me.
So, for those who don't watch either of these shows -- there's sort of like two different Gail Simmons: on Top Chef we see more of "Serious Gail" as she's there to judge the cheftestant's and help determine their fate in the competition alongside host Padma Lakshmi and head judge Tom Colicchio. On The Best Thing I Ever Ate "Fun...

Food Network Gilbert Gottfried on “Food Network Star”
Rib roast or comedic roast? Or perhaps a bit of both?
Such was the question behind this week’s edition of “Food Network Star.” The idea was to pair roasts of the traditional variety (as in prime rib, leg of lamb, duck, etc.) with a roast of the sort the Friars Club might host (as in a panel of judges that included Gilbert Gottfried, Louie Anderson and Judy Gold). It was quite...

These are busy times for Bobby Flay, the celeb chef of Mesa Grill and Food Network fame. In the kitchen, he’s staying active by launching another of his Bobby’s Burger Palace casual eateries – this one in College Park, Md. – and keeping tabs on his 10-plus other restaurants, including his Mesa Grills in New York, Las Vegas and the Bahamas. On the TV front, he’s doing a similar juggling act, having just concluded the debut...

Photograph by Lisa Hamilton (Cosentino), Kevin Winter/Getty Images (Lady Gaga). Chris Cosentino, the executive chef at Incanto in San Francisco, wasn’t sure he wanted to talk to me. And I could understand his reticence. He may be a chef on the verge of mainstream fame, with frequent appearances on Food Network shows like The Next Iron Chef, Chefs vs. City and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. But he’s also a chef who cooks almost primarily with offal. If you’re not familiar with offal, it’s a word derived from the slaughterhouse phrase “off fall”, or the pieces that “fall off” a carcass when it’s being butchered. Things like brain and pancreas and lungs and spleen and other organs that aren’t, at least in the U.S., generally considered food. “It’s something that already has a bad rap,” Cosentino told me in a pre-interview phone call.

The run up to "Black Friday" has started, which this year includes a lot of advertising of "Black Friday Prices Now!" stuff and I just... bleh. This is the part of American Christmas that makes me want to give all the money I'd put towards presents to Heifer International and Donors Choose and give my loved ones a card that says "For Christmas this year I bought someone a cow and gave a fourth grade class a set of textbooks. Happy freaking Holidays." I understand that people want to save money and there are some good deals available but if I'm standing outside a store in freezing cold weather at some ridiculous goddamn hour of the morning, I'd better be getting a TV for free when I walk in. But I say that as someone who hates cold and mornings. And crowds. And useless shiny crap. This really isn't my season.
