After wrapping up Shoojit Sircar’s October last week, Varun Dhawan has not taken any downtime. The actor has begun prep for his next with Yash Raj Films’ Sui Dhaaga- Made in India. Varun will star as a labour in the film and has already started learning how to work on a sewing machine. Sharing a couple of videos, Varun was seen learning how to sew a shirt in his trial room on Wednesday afternoon. It seems like Varun is getting the hang of the machine. Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film stars Anushka Sharma and is slated to release on October 2, 2018.

We are back with another look at what happened on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa! This week’s show opened with the international judge Maksim Chmerkovskiy dancing to the song ‘Criminal’ from Ra One. The audience really loved his performance, as it was the first time Maksim had danced solo on the show.
Host Ranvir, then tricked the contestants into a “pass the parcel” game, by throwing them a mirror ball and saying that whoever caught the ball, would go directly into the face-off. But judge Karan Johar used his “jhoothameter” and said that Ranvir was fooling around, the mirror ball would say who was safe from the eliminations.
This week’s theme was Made in India which meant the contestants would be performing on dance styles that originated from India.
Actor Ashish Sharma & his choreographer Shampa were the first to perform. They danced on the song ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta’ from the film Boss.

After being almost two years in the making, Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3 finally sees the light of the day this November the 4th. As expected brother Rajesh Roshan does the music for the film. Some say that Pancham, R D Burman, felt that one of the most impressive musicians around is Rajesh Roshan. Whilst the composer has given us some classic albums in the 90s, Koyla, Karan Arjun and Papa Kehte Hai, to name a few, come the millennium we hear very little from the composer except for his work for his brother’s films and the occasional exceptions. Time to see if his latest album for the home production lives up to the high expectations.
Mamta Sharma (‘Munni Badnaam’ – Dabangg) opens the album with Krrish Title track along with Anirudh Bola and Rajesh Roshan’s contribution, although Mama remains the leading voice of the track. Rajesh mixes classical Indian music themes with techno.

San Antonio Film Festival
The deadline for the 18th annual San Antonio Film Festival is fast approaching, but there’s still a few more days to get your films in. The actual fest will run on Jun. 18-24.
The fest is always a great, eclectic mix of international indie film that also heavily screens and promotes local talent. There does usually seem to be an emphasis on films with a political or social justice bent, but that doesn’t mean Saff will shy away from tossing in a straight-up thriller or comedy to mix things up.
For example, last year’s films ranged from the music doc Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone by Chris Metzler and Lev Anderson to the police thriller Disrupt/Dismantle by Jack Lucarelli to the Indian surrogate mother business Made in India by Rebecca Haimowitz and Vaishali Sinha to the comedy Lord Byron by Zack Godshall.
