A paint huffing, Nyquil swilling, BMX riding outcast haunts the washed out and wasted streets of Los Angeles in this inverted lo-fi homage to De Sica and Zavattini's 1949 Italian neo-realist classic "Ladri di biciclette."
Bike Thief is a crummy tone poem scrawled with a half-dead Bic pen on the stained and peeling label from a fourth generation VHS (EP) dub of Ladri di biciclette, found half-melted under the cushion of a sun-bleached couch left to rot on the curb in North Hollywood. This film is both a heartfelt portrait of Los Angeles, and a lovingly inverted homage to the most beautiful movie ever made.—Anonymous
