For as long as I've been alive, acne has been a real life issue for me. Over the years I've done it all (no zit cream or expensive facial has gone untested), but it wasn't until I heeded some much needed, albeit unusual, advice from Nurse Jamie (Khloé Kardashian and Shay Mitchell are fans of the pro, btw) that my acne started to disappear—for good. For once in my life, her advice did not include a laundry list of expensive new products to invest in. Quite the opposite, in fact. Because my skin is super-sensitive (spoiler: if you have acne, yours is too), I needed pull back on the products and start incorporating her Instant Uplift beauty tool into my nightly...

Viewers of The Late Late Show were treated to a spectacular, so-called "impromptu" riff-off Thursday night that involved vocally gifted multi-hyphenates Jamie Foxx, Ansel Elgort and James Corden.
The musical evening kicked off with Corden pretending to start a segment about dogs in sunglasses, but Foxx, who was seated in the audience, heckled Corden into having a riff-off instead. "I don't wanna hear about no dogs in sunglasses," he protested.
Foxx and Corden then battled it out with help from a capella group The Filharmonic, choosing their songs based on their favorite male artists.

Normally we wouldn't support anyone interrupting a late-night bit about adorable dogs wearing sunglasses, but Jamie Foxx gets a pass just this once. The Baby Driver actor surprised James Corden on Thursday night by derailing The Late Late Show to challenge him to one of the show's epic riff-offs. With some help from The Filharmonic, the two belted out songs like Bruno Mars's "24K Magic" and Stevie Wonder's "For Once in My Life," and nearly came to blows over who deserved to be the winner. Luckily Ansel Elgort popped up out of literally nowhere to calm them down, and proved he's got some seriously impressive pipes of his own.

Baby can sing! Ansel Elgort is playing the title character in his new action flick Baby Driver, but on Thursday night, the 23-year-old actor proved that not only does his character love music, but he also has quite the voice in real life.

It started when Elgort’s co-star, Jamie Foxx challenged James Corden to a “Riff-Off” on The Late Late Show, bringing out an acapella group to back him up.
The two started off singing songs by their favorite male artists with Corden picking Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” and Foxx selecting Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life.”
Then Foxx not-so-subtly suggested some songs from his new film, Baby Driver. After the two got into a heavy argument about the winner, Elgort joined them on stage to show off his own smooth vocal stylings.

What the world needs now is love.
After making its debut in the U.K. in March for British Red Nose Day, the mini sequel to Love Actually is making its way to the States this month. Ahead of its broadcast, Universal Pictures released the official trailer for Red Nose Day Actually, which proves that Hugh Grant's Prime Minister David still has the moves – well, sort of.

This recap of The Voice’s Top 10 results show practically wrote itself — before the episode had even begun. After Monday’s performances, I was so sure that Mark Isaiah and Lilli Passero were toast that I was already thinking of how to analyze their downfalls. (For him, youthful inexperience from which not even his poreless teen-idol complexion could distract forever; for her, inconsistent performances and a few song selections that smacked of sabotage.) But was I right to count them out?

It was an emotional night for the Baltierra family.
On Monday’s episode of Teen Mom Og, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler celebrated Butch’s sobriety and one year release from prison by throwing him an outdoor party.
First, Tyler was a bit apprehensive about the party, seeing as though it’s only been one year since his father left the facility.
“Maybe this is not a good thing to do,” he told Catelynn. “I don’t know, I didn’t really research it. People do this? Do addicts even want to do that?”

The documentary shorts presented at the Tribeca Film Festival included both human stories and New York’s past. The films delved into themes of chaos, survival, and a glimpse into a life of the city that forever evolves but a time past that cannot be forgotten. After the screening, the filmmakers joined in for a Q&A.
About the Film: "Joe's Violin"
A 91-year-old Holocaust survivor donates his violin to an instrument drive, changing the life of a 12-year-old schoolgirl from the Bronx and unexpectedly, his own.
About the Director: Kahane Cooperman is the director/producer of "Joe's Violin." She has also directed several other documentaries. She is currently the showrunner/executive producer of "The New Yorker Presents." Prior to that role, she was a co-executive producer of ‘The Daily Show’ with Jon Stewart. She began her career at Maysles Films.
Kahane Cooperman talks about "Joe’s Violin"
Cooperman began by introducing the two subjects of her film who were seated in the audience, the violin owner Joseph Feingold and Brianna.
“The way I got this idea was very simple. My car radio was on and I tuned on the classical radio station Wqxr and I heard a promo for their instrument drive; it said donate your instruments and the instruments are going to New York City school kids. They mentioned the donations they already had gotten and one of the instruments was Joseph’s violin. I just thought, 'I wonder if there's a story there with this violin and if the student who gets the violin will know the story.' I got in touch with the radio station and they allowed me the privilege of pursuing the story and this film is what unfolded. It was a very moving experience. I do love music but I don't play an instrument. I think music is incredibly powerful but I'm also moved by the idea of how a small gesture can make you dream and change someone’s life. Somehow the idea of this was very compelling to me and that it might play out in the context of this one instrument shared by two people who were born 80 years apart.
About the Film: "Mulberry"
This cinematic portrait of Little Italy explores how a working class neighborhood of tenement buildings transformed into the third most expensive zip code in the United States. Part funny, part sad, the film investigates how gentrification and rent control are affecting the neighborhood’s long-term residents.
About the Director: Paul Stone
Brooklynite Paul Stone started his directing career in the edit room at Ridley Scott & Associates. In "Tales of Time Square," Paul recreated 1980’s Time Square. The footage was often mistaken for stock and went on to be screened at over 50 festivals in the U.S. and abroad. His previous short ‘Man Under’ (Tff 2015) explored the rise in NYC subway suicides.
Paul Stone talks about "Mulberry"
“I saw my neighborhood disappearing, changing. I have no problem with gentrification, but it’s gotten to a point of hyper gentrification. Little Italy in New York is known for its soul and its people, and it was rapidly disappearing. I wanted to tell the story about who inspired me in terms of my friends and that Little Italy is still alive and well, and that there are still a lot of characters left.
About the Film: "Starring Austin Pendleton"
Austin Pendleton is that quintessential character actor you might recognize. We follow Austin as he reflects on his life and craft, while his A-list peers discuss his vast influence, dogged determination, and what it means to be an original in today's celebrity-obsessed world.
About the Directors Gene Gallerano and David H. Holmes
David H. Holmes has studied and acted under the direction of Mr. Pendleton. His film and television credits include ‘Birdman’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Girls’, ‘Mr. Robot’, and ‘The Following’. Gene Gallerano is the co-founder of The Neboya Collective, and has produced and starred in works including, Occupy’, ‘Texas’, ‘Fireworks’, and ‘The Talk Men’, which he also directed.
Holmes and Gallerano talk about "Starring Austin Pendleton"
The directors met ten years ago in an Off-Broadway show and studied with Austin Pendleton for about five years. They consider him a big mentor. “We look up to him a lot and we wanted to make sure in the end that we could look him in the eye. He was very happy we made the film. At the Tribeca Talks the other day it was the first time Austin saw it. Someone asked him if he had any input into the film and he said no because then you start manipulating it and controlling it; particularly his stutter, he said I would have told them ‘cut that’.” He wasn’t preventing us from making art.”
About the Film: "Taylor and Ultra on the 60s, The Factory and Being a Warhol Superstar"

Brian Bayerl talks about "Taylor and Ultra on the 60s, The Factory and Being a Warhol Superstar"
“Our producer came across photographs of Robert Indiana, Andy Warhol, Taylor Mead and Ultra Violet and a lot of other figures of the sixties Pop Art. When documenting those photographs we met Taylor Mead and Ultra Violet and instantly fell in love with them; they were just so captivating and charismatic and fun that over the next four years we had opportunities to interview them and gather footage. When we lost both of them, we were approached by the Warhol Museum about putting something together and that's exactly what we wanted to do. We put this film together as an homage to both of them.”

Last week was definitely not an easy week. Not only did we have one of the most difficult dances I could ever imagine, but I also was really shaken by my injury.
That said, I could not have happier with how things went during the live show. It was really worth all the pain when I watched our dance back and saw how much the audience responded to it.

I hate when my dreams are crushed. For once in my life, I wish a director of a big-budget film would just see how passionate I feel about their film, and play along with me feelings. But no, it seems that'll never happen, as a recent interview that Joe Russo had has gone ahead and crushed my little black heart yet again. With the character 'General Ross' being involved in the plot of "Civil War," many people, myself included, assumed that he may be in the film and also turn into his alter-persona as The Red Hulk. But guess what? That ain't happenin'. Joe Russo debunked those claims with a quickness, making me feel (yet again) like a little part of me died inside.
“There’s always a chance at Marvel that you can see anything. But there, uh, let's say ... there is no Red Hulk in ‘Civil War.'...

Did you know that driving a car while singing "Superstition" and "For Once in My Life" with Stevie Wonder in the passenger seat is fun? James Corden is attempting the Jimmy Fallon style of celebrity schmooze with his carpooling gag, but it usually makes for an adorable viewing experience. Stevie's love of FaceTime and British accents is a major highlight here, as well as the fact that his voice is still 100% perfect.

"Sitting here tonight I am going to say something that I never want to say publically," the 73-year-old said at a table with fellow legends. "From where I come from, I had nothing, no family, no money, and I ended up [working] with Vince [McMahon]...to me, that was the biggest achievement of my life. But there's more to that. Sitting here tonight, I'm going to say something I would never want to say. For once in my life I'm going to be me. I survived...

Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks show up as judges on a talent competition on Wednesday's (Nov. 6) "Law & Order: Svu." The fake "American Diva" bears an uncanny resemblance to "American Idol," where the two singers got their big breaks.
The episode has them (along with R&B singer Ashanti) behind the judges' desk. Carly Rose Sonenclar, runner-up on Season 2 of "The X Factor," takes the stage. She's so nervous, she's initially inaudible, but quickly finds her terrific voice.
As she's wowing the audience, which was a theater full of extras at Manhattan's Hudson Theatre last month, the action breaks to the detectives going about their lives, all tuning into the singing contest. Detective Amaro (Danny Pino) and his daughter watch at a diner. Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Tutuola (Ice-t) watch while eating take-out Chinese food, and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has the show on at home, while on the phone.

Washington, Sep 28: Mel B has admitting that she didn't do any promotions for her new song 'For Once in My Life' as she thought it was a good song, and believed that it would be received well by fans.

With its stranger-than-fiction details, celebrity victims and teenage perpetrators (two of whom had their own reality show, "Pretty Wild") the so-called Bling Ring was practically tailor-made for Hollywood. And at the centre of this perfect storm in Sofia Coppola's stylish retelling is Katie Chang's Rebecca, the teenage ringleader of a group of kids who break into celebrities' homes to "go shopping."
"The Bling Ring" marks Chang's feature debut, and alongside Emma Watson and fellow newcomer Israel Broussard, they retrace the teens' crime spree, ransacking the houses of Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan and others by taking advantage of gossip blogs, Google Maps and some seriously lax home security.
With "The Bling Ring" now out in theatres, Moviefone spoke to Chang about her big-screen debut, staging a mock break-in as research, and what it was like filming at the scene of one of the crimes.

We only have a few more episodes left in "Glee" Season 4, but of course the show has managed to squeeze in one more tribute episode, this time honoring the music of Stevie Wonder. At least we know that "Wonder-ful" will have some good tunes.
As for the plot ... It probably doesn't have much to do with Stevie Wonder directly. Instead, we meet Artie's mother (guest star Katey Sagal) and see the returns of Mercedes (Amber Riley), Cassandra (Kate Hudson) and Burt Hummel (Mike O'Malley). While Rachel (Lea Michele) gets ready for her "Funny Girl" callbacks, the New Directions prepare for Regionals.
What music can we expect from "Wonder-ful"? Listen to the songs below.
"Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" performed by Kitty (Becca Tobin)
"Superstition" performed by Mercedes, Blaine (Darren Criss) and Marley (Melissa Benoist)
"You Are the Sunshine of My Life" performed by Kurt (Chris Colfer)

Stevie Wonder was the guest of honor Monday night on Dancing with the Stars. Between performances by the iconic singer, the eight remaining couples competed with two dances each to his hits.
Once again, Kellie Pickler and Zendaya were atop the leaderboard – and both earned 10s for their respective routines.
Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy's cha cha to "Do I Do" was "full of snap, crackle and pop," according to Len Goodman. Carrie Ann Inaba called the routine "perfection in motion." They earned 29 points.
Kellie and Derek Hough's quickstep to "Part-Time Lover" was "the best dance I've seen on season 16," Len said.

Look at these dudes. Three pleasant, symmetrical rascals with gay posture who just wanted to impress mentor Smokey Robinson with their dotty croquet uniforms, conjure some soul on Motown/Detroit night, and look like they belong on American Idol. Did they succeed? Ahahaha. If the goal was to deepen the tracks of Smokey Robinson's tears by making him Weep Uncontrollably, then yes. Otherwise, they don't fare so well in this week's rankings.
Here they are, the eight remaining Idol contestants' performances from Motown Night ranked #8-1.
8. Lazaro Arbos, "For Once In My Life"
At least Lazaro knows I'm mad at him, otherwise why would he wear greaser attire and slick his hair like the hot prostitute from A Single Man? I'm drawing a blank. Meet me in the parking lot, buddy!

Madonna. Aaliyah. Eminem. Washboard Willie. Stevie Wonder. Bob Seger. Grand Funk Railroad. The list goes on and on.
The theme weeks continue as the American Idol Top 8 take on the songs from Detroit. In previous years, this has been a straight Motown week, but in the spirit of changing things up, producers have branched out to allow music from anyone hailing from Motor City.
The contestants will be mentored by the legendary Smokey Robinson. We'll also get duets and small group numbers in addition to the solo performances on which the contestants will be judged.
Let's get to it...
Candice Glover is Blues-ing up "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." The arrangement is a little slower than we're probably used to hearing and the jazz and blues influence is heavy. Candice is crazy talented and has some serious versatility in her voice. She can belt the high notes and also...

Tonight’s installment of American Idol kicked off with chyrons promising “a story of innovators, a story of visionaries.” And then we jumped right into a theme that Idol has coughed up roughly 26 times over the course of 12 seasons: “Detroit: The Music of Motor City” (Aka Motown Night Plus a Random Madonna Track).

Steven Tyler in drag was worth sitting through an otherwise snooze-worthy series of auditions in Oklahoma. The former American Idol judge and Aerosmith lead singer surprised his successors by showing up in full drag, from heels to hose to blonde wig and perfectly applied blush, just to say hi. He wouldn't sing, not even a single bar of "Dude Looks Like a Lady," but he did flash the panel on his way out. I miss him.

Look, I remember seasons 10 and 11. I know Steven Tyler was less a judge and more a starved mule dressed as Jimmy Buffett. I get that. But in his stupid, hacky cameo on last night's Idol as a busty blonde auditioner, I admit I kind of fell for the guy. Was it his go-for-broke attitude? His don't-give-a-f*ck spirit? His convincing womanliness? His blushing skull? Not really. It was the fact that he introduced himself with a full drag persona, one that he gleefully co-opted from (get ready) Paris is Burning! Watch as Steven-effing-Tyler introduces himself as "Pepper Labeija from the House of Labeija." Watch! I still can't believe it.
Now, it's possible that an Idol producer or gay stagehand threw Steven a name and persona to use for the moment. It's possible Steven has never seen Paris is Burning, and it's possible that Malcolm McLaren's "Deep in Vogue" means nothing to him.

Former judge Steven Tyler made a surprise cameo on American Idol Thursday night – dressed as a woman.
Calling himself Pepper Labeija after the famous drag queen featured in the 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning, Tyler wore a blonde wig, snakeskin miniskirt and fake breasts that honked when squeezed. (There will be no "Dude Looks Like a Lady" jokes because, frankly, he didn't.)
Looking eerily like Joan Rivers, Tyler blew kisses at the camera and reduced judge Keith Urban to hysterical laughter.

American Idol‘s Season 12 audition episodes came to a close tonight with a stop in Oklahoma City, and the giddiness was palpable.
Ryan Seacrest bumped chests with a contestant. Nicki Minaj was accused of worshipping the devil. And seemingly everybody got a Golden Ticket to Hollywood: Plushies, ventriloquists, a ginger-haired guy who performed a marginal song of his own composition, even a woman named Zoanette Johnson whose catastrophic rendition of the National Anthem made Keith Urban fall off his chair. (Suddenly, it’s sounding more like a Weekend Update segment starring Stefon than an episode of Idol, no? “The password is: Seeeeeacrest Out!

Finally! We've reached the end of the audition rounds for season 12 of American Idol. Tonight the judges make their final stop in Oklahoma, home of American Idol superstar Carrie Underwood.
Will they find talent? Or tumbleweeds? Let's find out now...
The first to audition is Karl Skinner from Joplin, Mo. He's very emphatic. And when Keith asks him who he wants to be as an artist he says he wants to be "uncomparable." Mission accomplished, Karl. For reasons completely unbeknownst to me, the judges send him to Hollywood.
Nate Tao is an American Sign Language teacher. Both of his parents are deaf. He sings Stevie Wonder's "For Once In My Life" and there's a sweetness about him that's very likable. His voice isn't bad either. He gets four yes votes. And then Nate's dad teaches Ryan a couple of signs. I like him.

Best documentary at the Oscars is, like best foreign language film, the type of category that seems invented to be grumbled over, with selections and winners rarely reflecting the films everyone else in the world finds most worthy of praise. So it's much less frustrating to look to organizations like the International Documentary Association for better indicators of the docs that are the cream of 2010's crop.

The South by Southwest Film Festival announced its 2010 feature line-up Wednesday night, and I couldn’t be more excited. The nine day event starts March 12, 2010 here in Austin, Texas, and I’ll be covering as much as I can from start to finish. Though, if it’s anything like last year, I’ll be asleep on my feet by the end of it.
The 2010 list includes 119 films (55 world premieres), but here are a few notables: The previously announced Kick-Ass will start the festivities. Elektra Luxx, the sequel to the underseen comedy Women in Trouble, starring Carla Gugino, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and too many more to name. Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass in which Edward Norton plays identical twins. A documentary titled People vs. George Lucas that I will be seeing. Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs. Plus the “SNL” spin-off movie MacGruber in its world premiere, possibly before the MacGyver creator shuts it down.

Less than a week worth of recovering from the Sundance Film Festival, and we are already looking forward to our next, big film fest coverage. That would be the South by Southwest Film Festival held annually in Austin, Texas. Last year, Scott and I brought you all kinds of coverage from the Lone Star State, and this year doesn’t look to be much different.
With that, the announcement came last night of the feature films that will be playing at the SXSW Film Festival. Previous announcement were already made about films like Cold Weather, Electra Luxx, Hubble 3D, Lemmy, Saturday Night, and The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights making their debut. Kick-ass was recently announced as the opening night film, as well.
Among the other films being presented this year are some Sundance darlings, a few, highly anticipated premieres, and MacGruber.

Late yesterday the SXSW Fim Festival, which runs from March 12-20 in Austin, TX, announced the full lineup of films that will be screening at this year’s event. And baby, it’s quite a list. Mixing big name films with intimate indie gems, the sheer number of films and the vast array of talented filmmakers is sure to be a hit with attendees and critics alike.
This lineup includes premieres of studio films such as Universal’s MacGruber, Lionsgate’s teen superhero actioneer Kick-Ass and smaller films like Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs, Michel Gondry’s The Thorn in the Heart and Steven Soderbergh’s And Everything Is Going Fine. With so many films to watch, it will be very difficult to find time to seem them all during the events nine days. But hell, we’re going to try.
