More than meets the eye

The story set in the Civil War is compelling on the surface, but more lies beneath. This story of a man's commitment to wife, family, and duty, shows that Love exists regardless of whether it is recognized by the intended recipient... And the torture it must be knowing one's love isn't being received. The film makers use setting to effectively create the mood they are seeking. A "metaphysical" experience depicted in the film leaves much open for interpretation, which serves the 'thinking' movie goer well. Viewers can enjoy good conversation around the subtleties of this film and its possible intentions. An admirable job by the film makers in packing so much thought into a short format film, and somehow doing so with relatively little dialogue.
