Sex & Nudity

  • Mr.Whiskers makes animal mating jokes. Nothing explicit Is heard.
  • 2 kissing scenes. Brief.
  • While watching TV, animals mating are seen. It is pretty explicit. Lasts about 30 seconds or less.
  • No explicit nudity.
  • A man dresses as Elvis and shakes his pelvic area like Elvis did. Not explicit and meant for laughs.

Violence & Gore

  • When Ryan Reynolds kills people, it is heard but not seen. There is usually something blocking us from seeing this act of violence, so we don't see any gore or anything explicit.
  • A man has a head in his fridge that starts talking to him. There is no blood or gore because the scene is meant for laughs.

Profanity

  • The cat makes a lot of sexual references.
  • It's near-constant swearing throughout the whole movie. Lots of uses of "fuck", "shit" and other words, the majority of it coming from Jerry's cat. Including references to being raped by men in prison if he tells the police what happened and at least one other reference to being "butt fucked without lube" when talking about his being asked to help orchestrate a party at work.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Women have drinks with dinner. One woman points to a bottle of beer and indicates she would like a ride home due to fear of alcohol intoxication inhibiting her ability to drive.
  • People are seen drinking at a bar karaoke night. Bottles of beer are shown. Drunken acts are shown.
  • A woman struggles to light a cigarette in the rain.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Even though this is a comedy, there are many dark and unsettling moments, and the behavior of Jerry can frighten some people.

Violence & Gore

  • A man chases a woman and falls on her with a knife. It's by accident and she starts to gargle blood. While she is gargling blood he stabs her twice to put her out of her misery. The stabbing is offscreen but the aftermath is shown.
  • Jerry hits a deer with his car. The deer tells him to cut his throat so he then proceeds to slit its throat wide open with blood spraying everywhere
  • As Jerry is collecting Fiona's dead body, it pulls away from the shot to show a pile of disembodied organs laying on the floor
  • As part of the main characters backstory, his mother is depicted attempting suicide via a broken glass to the throat. After failing, she begs Jerry to do so and he shuts the room's door; killing his mother off screen. Jerry is then shown on screen talking to the paramedics, holding a bloody glas and is covered in gore.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Jerry ties up his therapist on his couch and brings Fiona's severed head over to her. She starts screaming, then the head starts screaming, then the cat starts screaming
  • Jerry hits a deer with its car and then slits its throat open after it told him to. This scene may be scary to some people
  • A scene where Jerry is sleeping and he starts to imagine scenes of his dad yelling, a sock puppet, and several scenes of loud noises may be scary to some people
