The portrayal of friendship was what I really liked about this film. The acting was unforced and convincing. It obviously wasn't improvised and the characters might have been playing themselves, as it were, but this story was enhanced by the cast.

Good-looking Clément was clearly in the game for fun and nervous Anthony fell hook, line and sinker. The scenes of the boys on their first night together were tender and gentle.

There's the inevitable twist, of course, as the film would have been inconsequential without one. This is where friendship came back in. Anthony's two best mates were there.

Beautifully shot and edited, this short deserves its eight stars.

Froth on a Film Dream

Nineteen minutes and the story is told. A young Rugby player is urged on by two friends ( a straight man and a woman ) to kiss an equally young barman. The rugby player is cute, and the barman looks slightly more ruggedly handsome in his looks. I dreaded the inevitable sex between them, and of course the cute guy takes on the cute sexual role. The sexual scene to appalling ' soft ' music is very tasteful and predictable. There is a twist at the end and the froth of the day dream of romance is well - no spoilers. I have no idea why this short has such high ratings because quite simply, despite it being fairly well acted it ticks a lot of cliche boxes. I was neither bored or interested. Rohmer could if he had dared made a long and interesting film out of this and in my opinion I hope the director fleshes it out more, and surprises more. It deserves an hour and a half as well. French cinema needs another good director able to handle homosexuality, as in this new conservative society we need more films that startle, and I have a hunch this director could do it.

The gentle storytelling and the good acting, the aura of emotion and the feeling to discover an Impressionist sketch, the seductive portrait of friendship and the game of dare with surprising consequence are the basic virtues of this just touching short film about a rugby player discovering himself after a bate with his friends.

The honest perspective, the wise image of vulnerability, desire, emotion and dessilusions are the sources of seduction in this case. In part, the dose of realism, to.

In short, a profound nice short film, a sort of wake up and a not bad end after a too pleasant ( and power) experience.

A film about selfdefinition, love, clash against reality.
