Exclusive: ABC has added two more comedy projects to its roster — True Story from Jennifer Crittenden and Gaby Allan and Man And Boy from British writer Danny Wallace and director-producer Julie Anne Robinson. Both comedies are single-camera and produced by ABC Studios. True Story, described as a female take on Wonder Years, is based on Crittenden and Allan’s experience as girls growing up with single moms in the 1970s. It is a look at what happens when a freshly divorced and boundary-less mother moves herself and 2 daughters in with her party girl best friend in Laguna Beach, CA in the late 1970′s. Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond alumna Crittenden and former Scrubs writer-producer Allan are writing-executive producing through their overall deal at ABC Studios. The duo is repped by UTA and attorney Michael Gendler. Man And Boy centers on an eccentric man who returns to his small town and...

Exclusive: Jeff Filgo and Jackie Filgo have left ABC's comedy hopeful Awkward Situations For Men. The hybrid comedy starring popular British humorist/on-air personality Danny Wallace is one of 3 pilots from this past development season ABC is making new pilots for, along with How To Be a Better American and Wright vs. Wrong. That '70s Show veterans Jeff & Jackie Filgo wrote the original pilot with Wallace and served as executive producers/showrunners. Warner Bros. TV, which produces the project, will presumably bring in a new showrunner to replace them for the reworked pilot. Inspired by Wallace's book Awkward Situations for Men, the ABC project follows him as he moves to the U.S. with his wife, only to discover that his everyday behavior clashes with American values and gets him into trouble. Wbtv recently extended the options on Wallace and his co-stars on the show Tony Hale and Laura Prepon.

ABC may be giving comedy Awkward Situations For Men a second shot. I hear the network is ordering a new pilot from the Warner Bros. TV-produced project, which stars Brit Danny Wallace. Auspices, including writers Jeff Filgo, Jackie Filgo and Wallace, are expected to stay the same. The goal I hear is to make the comedy, about a relatively famous British on-air personality (Wallace) who moves to America with his wife, broader.

ABC has greenlighted a multicamera comedy from "Friends" alumna Shana Goldberg-Meehan.
The untitled project, previously known as "Leap Frogs," revolves around two sisters at different stages in their romantic relationships: one is in a happy, long-term relationship but isn't married, and the other gets pregnant -- and winds up quickly marrying her new beau.
The Goldberg-Meehan project, from Warner Bros. TV, is the latest comedy picked up to pilot at ABC, following the orders to the Matthew Perry starrer "Mr. Sunshine, as well as "Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid" and "Awkward Situations for Men."
The network also greenlighted cop drama pilot "187 Detroit" earlier this month.
