The Horn of Plenty has been stolen from Magic Land and it is up to King Artie to recover it in this end of the line Noveltoon.

Everything about this cartoon screams lack of money, from the incoherent, dashed-off plot, to the simple figures, the partial animation and obvious voicing choices. Surprisingly, the backgrounding is quite lovely in its impressionistic simplicity, although if you check the moving shots you will see that each background sheet is barely wider than a frame and is looped.

It's sad to see the ragged remnants of the once marvelous Fleischer Studio reduced to this, but times had certainly changed. Movie cartoons were produced with an eye towards the TV aftermarket. Certainly, I don't recall seeing a single short subject in any film show I went to except for previews of forthcoming movies. Famous Studios would close down a couple of years later.
