- IN THE KEY OF G goes behind the scenes with eight Gilmore Young Artists at the 2004 Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Viewers enter the lives of these outstanding young American pianists as they prepare for their roles in the Festival. Filmed in April of 2004 and produced in cooperation with Peter Rosen Productions of New York, the documentary features the artists' performances from the Festival, as well as a backstage look at what goes in to creating this event. Cameras follow the performers through rehearsals and even their off time to get a feel for the work and the passion that make the Festival world famous. Also featured are Music Director David Lockington with the Grand Rapids Symphony and Music Director Raymond Harvey with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. The mission of the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival is to promote and develop world-class keyboard musical experiences that inspire present and future artists and audiences.—Peter Rosen
