Having been granted a new trial, Peter Florrick is granted bail and placed under house arrest with the requirement that he wear an electronic ankle bracelet. Son Zack shows him the doctored photos someone has been dropping at their door. He decides to hire Eli Gold, whose reputation is that he always goes for the jugular. He has some bad news for the former State's Attorney. At work, Alicia is worried that Diane Lockhart may be favoring Carey over her just as their 6 month "competition" is nearing an end. She finds out it wasn't her idea. In the case, Diane is defending someone charged with murdering a financier who lost his investors' savings in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. Diane hires a ballistics expert, Kurt McVeigh, to provide crucial evidence. They have another suspect in mind but the only witness they have is the suspects wife and spousal privilege seemingly prevents her from testifying.
