Entertaining episode of Smackdown, even if the main event was lackluster.

Warning: Spoilers
Opening segment.

Edge is out to a big time pop. Edge says he's a little concerned because Wrestlemania is 23 days away, and Jericho is telling him the same thing all over again, and somehow Jericho keeps getting speared. Edge says it's gonna keep happening, and the Big show is out. Edge hilarious says Big Show is a depressing surprise, and he's obviously here because his buddy Miz got speared last week, and says Big Show will get speared this week. Show says he's also here to find out who him and Miz will wrestle at Wrestlemania, and that Edge got lucky, but tonight his luck will run out. Edge asks Big show what he is gonna do "Eat Him"|Hilarious| Big Show says he eats pieces of crap like him for breakfast, and promises to knock him out. Edge claims Big Show has halitosis for eating pieces of crap for breakfast. Edge promises to win the World Title at Wrestlemania, while Big Show gets mad and charges him bur Edge hooks the top rope and Show flies over. Great segment, Edge put his comedic ability to good use, and the fans loved it.

Backstage Teddy is interrupted by Drew McIntyre. Drew tells Teddy to set the record straight about his loss next week. Teddy says in order of Vince Mcmahon, Drew's loss has been erased from the record books and expunged. Teddy says he will face Matt Hardy in a Money in The Bank qualifying match, while he refuses to shake Drew's hand. OK segment, personally I don't think Drew is worthy of all this hype.

2/5

Money in the Bank qualifier. Drew McIntyre Vs Matt Hardy. OK for what it was, and the time it got. Kane clearly beat Drew last week, so this is a bunch of hoo-Ha, but that's what happens when Vince is high on you. Matt wins with a roll up to qualify. Drew swears to Striker he will be at Wrestlemania. Well that's obviously happened, so there goes Christian's chances.

2/5

Slam-J sucks up to Morrison's new workout on his DVD, while Truth and Morrison come up with team names, or try to anyway. Blah.

1 /5

Shelton Benjamin Vs Dolph Ziggler. Too short, and a bit too sloppy for my liking, these two are capable of so much more. Shelton wins with a sloppy pay-dirt.

2/5

Ezekiel Jackson Vs Jimmy Yang Wang. Gee I wonder who's gonna win here. Complete squash, but Jimmy got some surprising limited offense in before it.

0/5

Rey asks Tiffany|Smackdown's newest diva| to watch his daughter. Nothing noteworthy here, except Tiffany's hotness, so I'll give it a 1 just for that.

1/5

Luke Gallows Vs Rey Mysterio. Punk cuts one of his basic Straight Edge promo's we heard all the time about Jeff, only it's about Mysterio. Pretty good stuff here for a 7 minute match. Gallows worked well with Rey, and there were a number of exciting spots. Rey wins when he shifts his weight on a Luke Gallows powerbomb attempt. Straight Edge Society tries to get Rey, but Rey fights them off and escapes.

3/5

Jericho tries to suck up to the Big Show, but Show has none of it, and says Chris only cares about himself. Show leaves while Jericho has a big grin on his face. Served it's purpose.

2/5

Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Match

John Morrison & R-Truth vs. The Hart Dynasty (w/Natalya) vs. Cryme Tyme. Why not give The Hart Dynasty a push, and put Morrison in Money In the Bank?!. Average match here, nothing noteworthy at all. Morrison&Truth are heading to Mania. Afterwards Morrison shows he can break dance.

2/5

McCool and Layla suck up to Vickie Guerrero in an extremely annoying fashion, and present her with one of her T-shirts. Beth makes her way asking Vickie when she is gonna get her title shot. Vickie says she is the most dominant diva on smack down, and won't get a title shot unless she says so. Beth warns Vickie not to cross her and walks off. Despite the fact that I wanna stick a blender down McCool's mouth, it's assuring to know Smackdown has a face now besides Mickie we can root for.

2 1/2 /5

Edge Vs The Big Show. Not bad, but it made the Big Show look kinda weak, although they need to make Edge look like a credible baby face. Edge wins with a spear. Afterwards Jericho runs down trying to nail him with a belt, but behold SPEAR, SPEAR, SPEAR!.

2 1/2 /5

Bottom line. Good episode for the most part, not much in the way of quality wrestling, but they advanced the story lines wonderfully. Solid recommendation for Smackdown this week.
