At least not another cheesy romantic comedy

Let me start by saying that this is not a good movie at all. However, Sven Martinek was fun to watch and I actually like Felicitas Woll (pity she does not have a bigger career), so these two saved the film a bit for me. Thomalla was pretty much on Lahme's mediocre level, which is quite an achievement as Thomalla has been one of the worst actresses on German television for a long time. Here, she is somewhat bearable though, maybe because she does not play the same character as always and is also not the central character.

This movie is almost five years old and has a pretty embarrassing title as so many German television productions do these days. Three women unite against one man, two of them partners on whom he cheated at the same time and the third woman, Woll's character and the protagonist, was fired for no reason by him. They use some voodoo on him, but in the end he tries to turn tables and play his former love interests off against each other. Of course, he won't succeed, so there is a sort-of happy ending for the women. The film's director is Thomas Nennstiel, who has directed many romantic comedies for television in the past. Compared to these, this one here is probably an improvement. But that's only because they were pretty bad, not because this one is a great movie. Not at all. Not recommended. It's a poor man's version of "The First Wives Club" to some extent.
