Learn more- Host Tom Bergeron and co-host Brooke Burke weren't in the mood to drag things out much, getting to the first of the results immediately on Tuesday's "Dancing with the Stars" results show.
The first two couples safe for another week were Aiden & Edyta and Erin & Maks.
Len recapped the previous night's performances, saying Jake and Niecy both needed to step up a bit to compete. Niecy said she was taken aback at the start of her performance. Len said Pam's dance was intense, but "not neat." Len said there was a slight improvement in Chad's dance, but the same couldn't be said for Aiden. He said Aiden was unable to move because he's too preoccupied with taking in information about the dances he's trying to learn.
Len was still upset that Derek and Nicole broke all the quickstep rules, and Nicole said afterward that it was all Derek's fault (she was joking, of course). Kate claimed she was proud of herself, despite getting crushed by the judges. Len still didn't like Buzz's dancing, despite loving the story. He enjoyed Erin's waltz, but said he should've given her a 6 instead of a 7 because there wasn't enough waltz content. Len loved Evan's quickstep.
Play it again...: Len asked for an encore performance from Evan and Anna, who did their quickstep once more.
Be our guest: Country singer Reba McEntyre paid a visit to perform her single, "I Want a Cowboy." A bit later, Reba came back to perform "Consider Me Gone."
Back to the results: The next couple safe for another week was Niecy & Louis. Nicole & Derek were the next to hear they were safe.
After a feature from Melissa Rycroft on what it's like to be in the audience, we found out that Evan & Anna were safe, along with Chad & Cheryl.
Backstage, Chad made a little quip about "making love on the dance floor" when he does the rumba with Cheryl next week.
Later, Tom announced that the next couple who were safe for another week was Pamela & Damian. That left Jake & Chelsie, Buzz & Ashly, and Kate & Tony.
The first couple in the bottom two was Buzz & Ashly. Also in the bottom two was Jake & Chelsie. That meant Kate & Tony were safe for another week.
Len said he was surprised and a bit disappointed. He thought the voters would save Buzz. He also thought Jake did a good job, but apparently the viewers didn't agree.
Tom announced, "On the third week of competition, the couple with the lowest overall combined total and therefore leaving right now is ... Buzz & Ashly."
The crowd grumbled a bit, but the reaction quickly turned to a standing ovation for the American legend. Buzz said he did the show for the fighter pilots, military people and "elder geezers like me" who wanted to see someone his age take on such a challenge.
