Professor Farnsworth's device is labeled, "Banach-Tarski Dupla-Shrinker". The Banach-Tarski Paradox is an actual theorem in mathematics, which holds that a three-dimensional sphere (also known as a "3-ball") can be decomposed into a finite number of pieces, which can then be reassembled into two duplicates of the original sphere. (Both of them the same size as the original, unlike the half-size replicas created by Professor Farnsworth's invention.)
Bender's introduction of his first two replicas is a parody of recurring characters on the Bob Newhart sitcom, Newhart (1982). In the show, dimwitted local Larry would always start by introducing himself and his two brothers (neither of whom ever spoke) by saying: "Hi, I'm Larry. This is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl."
Bender's first two duplicates are 60% scale replicas, meaning they are 40% smaller. Bender regularly claims "I'm 40% ________!"
