- Liz and Carol's relationship takes a turn for the worse during an extended flight delay, Jack and Avery try to get home when Avery goes into labor in Canada, and Tracy begins feeling the pressure of being an "EGOT" winner.
- Jack and Avery go to Canada for a final romantic getaway before they become parents, but when Avery goes into labor, they do everything in their power to not give birth to a Canadian. Meanwhile, Liz's romantic getaway with Carol is ruined when their plane is stuck on the tarmac. Tracy is besieged with the unwanted responsibility of being an EGOT winner.—NBC Publicity
- Open with Liz telling Jack she's going to fly on one of Carol's flights to North Carolina and then the two will spend time together in Nags Head. He tells her with the baby coming soon he and Avery are taking a trip to Toronto for the G8 economic summit. Jack makes reference to the danger of Liz dating someone like Carol who is so similar to her. "You also share the same flaws."
Tracy ended up winning the Oscar and Jenna is having a hard time with his new level of success. Tracy has reached "the next level" of stardom and doesn't seem sure if he likes the demands that go with it.
Liz gets on Carol's flight to Raleigh. She seems nervous.
Avery goes into labor almost immediately upon arriving at the Toronto hotel suite. Both of them are beside themselves at the notion the baby could be born in Canada. The plan is to get to the airport as quickly as possible, but it's not clear if there will be enough time.
Tracy speaks at a gathering of women honoring his performance and begins weeping.
Due to a snow storm Carol's plane has been on the ground for an hour. Carol is telling the passengers it will be a "half hour," but admits to Liz it will really be longer than that. She doesn't like that the pilot is lying to them and this starts a small argument.
Every flight in Toronto is cancelled and there are no rental cars available. Jack tries to think of positives of their daughter having dual citizenship but Avery isn't having it.
The passengers on Carol's flight are getting antsy. Babies seem to be appearing from nowhere and they are being forced to watch NBC sitcoms that didn't make the cut. Liz takes a leadership role among the passengers and tells them she will take their demands to Carol. But Carol will not listen to any of their requests (air, food, etc) and is getting angry. Their fight gets bigger and bigger and she ends up telling him he's "terrible" at his job. He defiantly turns on the seat belt sign.
Tracy continues getting offers and clearly hates the "next level." Pete walks by and tells him about the "Peter Principle," which basically says people should rise to the level of their incompetence. Kenneth suggests that Tracy is better than that, but Tracy isn't sure. He doesn't want to let anybody down, but admits "I'm scared."
Jack and Avery hitch a ride on what appears to be a mobile meth lab. Despite the obvious danger they will attempt to "drive this bomb to Buffalo."
Carol tells Liz they have been offered a gate, but they continue to fight like cats and dogs. He won't return the plane to the terminal unless she stands up and admits to the entire plane that she was wrong to question him. She "would rather die on this plane." To which Carol replies "that can be arranged."
At a stop for gas Jack tells meth dealer Lorne that Avery is, in fact, pregnant. He thinks they should go to a hospital. After Lorne goes through some of his life story Jack decides he's going to "quit" and call for an ambulance.
Tracy tells Kenneth he is going to accept the responsibilities with his new station and will be begin by leaving the following day for Africa where he will attempt to fix the continent. As soon as he walks away Jenna tells Kenneth to "move my things into his dressing room."
Liz stands up and tells the rest of the passengers that Carol is refusing to take them to the gate. He comes out of the cockpit and tells them Liz could have ended the whole thing by admitting she was wrong. Neither will budge and one of the passengers says "How are you two dating? You're too similar." Liz threatens to pull the emergency slide and Carol grabs a gun from the Sky Marshall and points it at her. She pulls an old man in front of her body and the two seem to realize their relationship is over.
Jack calls Liz with news that the baby was born in Canada. Despite that, Jack is still "willing to treat her like a human baby." Avery is still upset that Jack quit, and Liz realizes that is what every relationship needs. Jack and Avery are furious when the nurse tries to tell them they won't be charged for their medical treatment and leave to "find a Canadian who will take our money."
