Ash Vs. Evil Pokemon in this great fan-made trailer from Funny or Die that mashes together Pokemon with The Evil Dead. Here's the description that came with the video:
When the global outbreak of Pokemon reaches apocalyptic proportions, there is only one man the world can rely on to catch 'em all. And this time Ash Ketchum (Blake Jenner) is playing for keeps.
Earlier today we posted the first teaser trailer for Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 3 and since it's Halloween, I thought this would make a fun follow-up post, so enjoy!

As much as we hate getting behind while live tweeting our favorite shows, some scenes are so good we can't help but watch them twice...or three times.
Ok, maybe more.
We might want to keep laughing, make sure we didn't miss any details or just let the tears flow and flow. No matter the reason, the scenes we've chosen for The Boomerang Award deserve multiple viewings.

Now that is how you do a season finale!
Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Episode 10 picked up right were we left off last week, with Ash trapped in the cellar with Henrietta, thanks to that weasel Professor Knowby.
I wasn't surprised Henrietta made quick work of Tanya.
She was an idiot for coming to a secluded cabin with Knowby to begin with.
Knowby ended up getting his comeuppance anyway while attempting to flee in his car.
It was satisfying seeing him get what he deserved, but it still makes me wonder what happened to Knowby in the original timeline.
Henrietta's head and neck transformation was a great tribute to her second form in The Evil Dead II, and Ash eventually getting the upper hand and cutting off the head of that snake was a great end to this skirmish.
Ash vs Evil dead is always finding new ways to disgust me.

Ash vs. Evil Dead was an absolute blast in its first season, and Starz is banking on the series’ success by moving its second season into the much more competitive Sunday night landscape. Let’s see if that gamble will pay off by taking a look at the season 2 premiere, “Home.” The season opens with Ruby in an intense battle with some Deadites inside of what appears to be a hospital. She’s losing her fight at first (and the series’ gore and makeup are On Point), but she gets away for a chance to read the Necronomicon, unfortunately realizing that

If you thought Outlander‘s Season 2 finale on Sunday missed the mark — literally — you’re in good company.
Diana Gabaldon, who wrote the series of novels on which the Starz drama is based, posted a lengthy commentary to Facebook on Sunday regarding the finale’s final Claire-Jamie scene. In Dragonfly in Amber, Book 2 of the series, the Frasers’ tough farewell includes Claire asking her husband to cut his initial into her palm; she does so in order to have a constant reminder of their 18th-century love after she returns to the 20th century, and he in turn has Claire mark a “C” into his hand.

The first volleys of the Battle of Culloden have yet to be fired, but that didn’t stop Outlander from dealing one of its main characters a bloody death in Saturday’s season finale.
Dougal MacKenzie, Jamie’s headstrong and bloodthirsty uncle, met his end when Fraser himself (with a little help from Claire) pushed a blade into his chest. Dougal’s death came after he’d walked in on the Frasers talking about poisoning Prince Charles, aka the only way they could think of stopping the carnage Claire knew would happen if the skirmish against the British took place.

Sing me a song of a lass that is gonna do it all over again.
Outlander‘s season finale on Saturday ended on a hopeful note: After learning that Jamie actually didn’t die on the field at Culloden like she’d feared, Claire knew that she had to go back through the stones to reunite with the love of her life. (If you missed the episode, rest assured: She didn’t immediately jump into the circle and disappear. These things take planning, after all.

Ash has spent more time partying than killing deadites in the time between Army of Darkness and the TV series, so it’s no surprise that the first image of Ash vs Dead Season 2 shows him chainsaw-tapping a keg in Florida. The new season may start off with Ash living the good life, but executive producer Craig Digregorio promises that the “party is cut short when [Ash] must return home to continue the fight against evil.”

Ash vs. Evil Dead has had an absolutely remarkable debut season, and everything we’ve seen so far has been building up to the season’s end. Let’s take a look at the season one finale, “The Dark One.” As I usually do with reviews of finales, I’m going to keep this one as spoiler-lite as possible. The episode opens with our cast in some pretty dire situations. Kelly is trying to get the Necronomicon’s face off of Pablo, Ash is arguing with the book’s author, Ruby, and the tourist girl is stunned by the return of Deadite Amanda. In the ensuing chaos,

One of my fondest memories growing up as a young horrorphile was catching as many scary movies and fright-filled specials as I could during the month of October in order to prepare for Halloween night. Last year, James put together a comprehensive guide, of every piece of Halloween programming and horror movie that would air during the month of October. When I asked him if we were doing the same again this year, he acted like I was an idiot. Why wouldn’t we? With that knowledge in my head, I decided we would expand a little bit this year, and throw together a comprehensive DVD & Blu-ray buyer’s guide for the months of September and October. There are some really great horror releases between now and the end of October. Some studios wasted their opportunity to rope in the rabid genre fans. Fox, for example, except for a new Wrong Turn film, and a few catalog releases making their Blu-ray debuts(Exorcist sequels), has a calendar filled with nonsensical re-releases of titles that are already widely available, and at cheap prices.

Greetings from the apocalypse! That may be this column's reassuring greeting each week, but damn if it hasn't proved prescient as all get-out. It seems like we can't go a week this summer without at least one movie where extinction-level events occur with pornographic intensity ("Man of Steel," "This is the End," "After Earth," the upcoming "Pacific Rim" and "The World's End"). Not that I'm complaining. Bring on the rubble, Brad Pitt!

Our long national nightmare is finally over: AMC has settled its legal battle with Dish Networks, thus ensuring that Dish subscribers will once again be able to spend their Sunday nights watching the cast of The Walking Dead concoct exciting new ways to stab zombies in the face.
The lawsuit — an arcane dispute rooted in the defunct Voom service — ended this weekend when AMC and Cablevision agreed to a settlement with Dish. According to a press release, Dish agreed to pay AMC and Cablevision $700 million, and also entered into a new multi-year agreement to air the channels comprising AMC Networks — which includes AMC,...

A few weeks back, Image Entertainment released the zombie flick Dead Season on DVD everywhere and to support its home debut, Dread Central had the opportunity to chat with writer/producer/editor Loren Semmens about the project.
Dead Season follows a group of survivors a year after a zombie outbreak to a remote island where things aren't exactly as they seem and the undead running amok may not be the biggest threat to the residents living there. Directed by Adam Deyoe, the film stars Scott Peat, James C. Burns, Marissa Merrill and Corsica Wilson.
Check out our interview with Semmens below and look for Dead Season on DVD shelves now.
Dread Central: Can you start off by telling us how Dead Season came about?
Loren Semmens: Well, the director Adam and I had been friends for a while and we had always wanted to make a zombie film together.

We’re still in the process of developing and growing Daily Dead, so while I’d love to be able to review every single film sent my way, there is not enough time in the day to get everything done. However, I am watching new horror films regularly and wanted to offer my impressions on a number of recently released titles.
This will be my first impressions or mini-review feature and I’m planning on testing the waters with it over the next few months. For the first feature, I’m covering three “survival” movies: [Rec] 3 Genesis, Dead Season, and The Collapsed.
[Rec] 3: Genesis
Director Paco Plaza intentionally set out to create a movie that felt very different from the first two [Rec] films. The found footage elements are mostly removed and we’re presented with a romantic horror film that is carried by Leticia Dolera’s performance.

“Dead Season” writer/producer/editor Loren Semmens originally wasn’t going to a write a zombie film when he and “Dead Season” director Adam Deyoe were searching for a place to shoot a completely different film. But the two happened upon the right spot at the right time. “Adam and I traveled to Vieques [part of Puerto Rico], which is the island where we did principal photography. Our goal was to location scout for a different film we were in the process of writing, which was actually a buddy comedy. And when we got Vieques, we realized that these declassified military [sites and chemicals] were the perfect backdrop for something more horror related,” [ Read More ]...

Image Entertainment recently released Dead Season on DVD and I had a chance to talk with the film’s writer/producer Loren Semmens. For those who are unfamiliar with the film, it is a zombie movie that takes place mostly on an island and I had a chance to learn about the difficulties of filming on Vieques, creating a zombie movie on a budget, and the possibility of a sequel:
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Can you tell me how this project first came together?
Loren Semmens: Adam (the director) and I had always wanted to make a zombie film together. We took a trip to Vieques, the island where we shot the film, and thought it was a fantastic background for a zombie movie. We figured this was the time to do it and I raised some money. We wrote the script and...

The Skeleton Crew's Michael J here. Dead Season is not your typical zombie flick. This one has bite! When a worldwide viral outbreak leads to a plague of zombies, two survivors flee the chaos of America to a remote island, hoping for a chance to start a new life. What they find is unrelenting horror. Beyond the hordes of the flesh-hungry undead, the other people already on the island force the pair into a fight-or-die battle amongst themselves…...

Adam Deyoe’s post-apocalyptic zombie flick Dead Season hit VOD on July 5th and if you’re anticipating the official DVD release, you don’t have long to wait. Dead Season arrives on shelves July 31st. Deyoe, Joshua Klausner and Loren Semmens crafted this flawed but inspired story. James C. Burns, Scott Peat, Marissa Merrill, Corsica Wilson and Marc L. Fusco star. Get a look at the synopsis below as well as a look at the official press release, which promises some nice bonus material for hardcore supplement fans!

Director: Adam Deyoe. Writers: Adam Deyoe, Joshua Klausner, and Loren Semmens. Cast: James C. Burns, Scott Peat, Marissa Merrill, Corsica Wilson, and Marc L. Fusco. With so many zombie genre films entering the market, this reviewer is wondering if filmmakers are simply trying to capitalize in on the undead craze. Films like The Terror Experiment are simply amateurish and this film added nothing to the genre. Now, Adam Deyoe of Yeti: A Love Story and Psycho Sleepover takes a mediocre stab at this genre from the director's chair. His film, Dead Season, starts from a weak place, a poor script. From here on out, the film feels like amateur hour spent in a tropical paradise. The film begins with the protagonist, Elvis (Scott Peat). He is a lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse. He has a friend who he can talk to on the radio. She is a mysterious figure.

When you claim that your upcoming horror flick puts a “riveting new spin on the zombie genre”, you’d better bring your A-game. Because at this point, I think we’ve seen just about everything under the sun. Unless your zombie flick chronicles the adventures of a group of zombie bowlers who wander from city to city, looking for places to play and people to challenge, then you’d better be ready to impress us. The trailer for director Adam Deyoe’s “Dead Season” certainly suggests that he’s headed in the right direction, though looks can be deceiving. Case in point: “Automaton Transfusion”. Don’t even get me started. Have a look at the official synopsis, complete with ballsy proclamation: When a worldwide viral outbreak leads to a plague of zombies scouring the earth for the living, two survivors flee the chaos of America to a remote island, hoping...

Beyond the hordes of the flesh-hungry undead, the other people already on the island force the pair into a fight-or-die battle amongst themselves. Armed only with crude weapons, they must descend into savagery and cutthroat tactics just to make it through each day.

We all watched as “so so” died this past season and the zombies did that thing they did and the folks of the Walking Dead stayed on the farm… for… ever… What did you think of the Walking Dead Season 2? The Internet is absolutely exploding with everything from Siskel and Ebert level criticism to whiny social networkers trying to play Hollywood directors to the folks who might as well be the tattle talers in grade school for the rest of their natural born lives (Those are the spoiler posters). Well there’s only one opinion (really three separate opinions fused to form one) you need to listen to if you want to get eaten alive by the Walking Dead all over again. Jeff Konopka, Shawn Savage and Ted Brown dish on the brains you love to eat.

Okay, so maybe the island isn’t exactly full of zombies, but there are zombies, there is an island, and there is escaping going on, so technically the headline is sorta correct, if a tad misleading. Anyways, check out the debut trailer for Adam Deyoe’s new zombie flick “Dead Season”, which looks visually excellent, and the story certainly looks intense. I’d have liked to see more zombie happenings, but apparently this is one of those stories where, yeah, the zombie apocalypse sucks, but it’s the humans you should really be worried about. A year after the civilized world has fallen into chaos, Elvis and Tweeter hope to increase their chances of survival by fleeing to what they think is an abandoned island. Upon arriving, they are forced to join a new community and live by rules that require them to make tough decisions. Starring James C. Burns,...
