I enjoyed very much this excursion in Rouen, a place with great historical, cultural and economical life.
There are som some interesting aspects of Rouen and its region: the discovery of the town through dynamic activities ( the comedian Hervé Goubert and his character Jacques de Valambry walking through the town, the associative restaurant of "La Cantine", the Association "Guidoline"-Timothée and the "Atelier de Auto-rération de vélos", 1200 members-, the Panorama on the bamks of the Seine River built in 2014- the pictures of the Rouen cathedral when Claude Monet was painting it-, the medicine interns living on a barge and the sculpures on the forest), the Rouen Cathedral (the sacristan Didier taking care for the candles, the Archbishop Lebrun talking about the role of the volunteers and visitors, the guide Sophie and the visit of the crypt, the restoration works in one of the spires, in the statues and in the great organ, Patrice Latour and the carillon of the cathedral), the antique shops and the flea market of Rouen ( the rue "Eau de Robec" called also "Rue des Antiquaires", the antique shop owner Bruno- the modern trade by internet-, Stéphanie and the "Brocante Jacotte and Gavotte", the flea market at St-Marc square, Philippe bbuying a lamp for his flea market at Morgny) , the medieval and Viking past (the statue of the Viking chief Rollon,first count of Normandy, Gwenahel and the Association "Les Enfants de Rollon", Jimmy Didier of the Association "Vegvisir" and the medieval history student Valentin speaking of the Viking culture, the enigma game at the Dungeoin of Jeanne-D'Arc organized by Gaëtan Perreau), the Grande Armada (the sailboat exhibition on the banks of the Seine, Sabine and Colombine will participe as mariners on the "Hermione" in the Grande Parade, the navigation to Brest and Rochefort) and the port of Rouen and the navigation on the Seine River ( Rouen as the second cereal port of Europe, the touristic cruiser "Botticelli- the captain Xavier Wattiau and the German tourists-, the Musée Maritime de Rouen, the marina for the sailboats-Erwan living on his sailboat, Tony, the English vacationer who will join Greece, Martial who is preparation his world tour).
I enjoyed the encounters of Jérôme with the boatman Nicolas Guyaud, with the head gardener Jen-Mrie Avisrd at Roche-Guyon, with Laurence Catel at Rouen and at the cliff of Romilly-sur-Andelle, with the chocolatier Jean-Marie Auzou at Rouen, with Loïc Patin at Jumièges , with the chef Christophe Mauduit, with Nicolas, the owner of the Duclair Castle, with the stone cutter Philippe Dumas , with Camille and Valentin at the Cabane à Milo and with Christophe Van der Cruyssen at the cliff climbing; nice encounters with very kind French men and women.
