It deserved to end with a classic, if did.
Sleepin_Dragon24 July 2023
Mo learns the exact role his father has played in recent events, the fallout after the shooting begins, Grace proves an invaluable help to the investigation.

It's been a wonderful first series, it gets the ending if deserved here, it's a brilliant final episode, it delivers on every level. It's true that most of the action went down in episode 5, but this handles all of the fallout.

We came in with so many questions, Gerry's life, David and Jen, The McIntyres, it puts every single question to bed. One question that will perhaps be addressed in series two, Grace and Stevie, is that going to become a thing?

Some bog scenes, including the booking in of The McIntyres, Gordy's interview, and of course Tommy breaking the news, every single scene was fluid and delivered to perfection.

What can you say after that, other than roll on Series two, it's been a huge triumph, a reminder of how good a quality BBC drama can be, it focused on the right things.

10/10.

Reminds me of Hill Street Blues

Warning: Spoilers
I almost quit 15 minutes into the first episode. Oh no, a throwback rookie cop show. Every probie has a flaw, who won't survive? But then I read the reviews and gave it a second chance.

It's a great procedural. It reminds me somewhat of Hill Street Blues from the 1980s. Hill Street was gritty and here the officers and their station are very spiffy. But, the characters are well developed and the storylined are plausible. I especially like the Grace character. I met a number of people who took uppolicework as a second career. She nails it Episode 6 is an audience pleaser. It works, things fall into place as they should. Gerry's death is a shocker and it propels the plot. Jen got her exit after proving herself under actual fire.
