100 YEARS OF HORROR is a 26-episode TV series made in 1996 and featuring the delightful Christopher Lee as host, his sonorous narration exploring the history of horror cinema in the 20th century. Each themed episode contains plentiful clips from the films mentioned along with brief interview footage seemingly culled from other documentaries as well as TV shows and the like.
WITCHES is rather a selective episode that discusses a handful of films at length while totally ignoring others. It's nice to see CITY OF THE DEAD and EYE OF THE DEVIL get mention here alongside NIGHT OF THE EAGLE, but other classics like RACE WITH THE DEVIL don't exist according to this. There isn't as much interview footage as in other episodes, although highlights include Vincent Price discussing WITCHFINDER GENERAL and his falling out with its director, and Lee chats THE WICKER MAN. The viewer is also treated to clips of the great Reggie Nalder at work in MARK OF THE DEVIL.
