Paul Levesque is an excellent actor.The character he plays in this movie shows depth and realism.I am a fan of his and to be honest I expected rigidity and an inability to cycle through a spectrum of emotion requisite of such a genre,but he pulled it off .

Ariel winters was also surprisingly good,I was expecting some stereotypical goodie two shoes Disney actor but she is far from that and very confident in her role.

Overall 6/10.I would also recommend people WATCH the movie before passing judgement.I admit I too was prejudging it but after watching it,I have to say this is one of the best movie WWE studios have made so far.

Chaperone actually delivers

Now I can probably guess what most of the people would think when hearing about this film for the first time. We have a WWE produced family comedy/light drama with wrestler Triple H in the title role. He doesn't quite look like the guy for this kinda role but then again we shouldn't judge the book by its cover. In truth Triple H can actually act. I found myself believing his acting and liking his character. I gotta say I enjoyed this movie more than some of Steve Austins action bloodbaths. If I was to give you some advice itd be go see this without prejudice. Leave expectations at the door and just go with the flow - the ride ain't half bad.

Not a bad movie at all!

I watched this movie only because of Triple h.

Now after watching it, i can tell you that triple h is big asset for this movie. Agreed the plot is really week but Triple h keeps the combo solemn and silly plot points rolling nicely along, and displays a surprisingly tender side that meshes smoothly with his more ferocious tendencies.This is the kinda movie you can enjoy watching with your kids and that is all it is.

Triple h does a good performance and never once throughout the movie you would think he couldn't deliver. There is a decent mix of everything in this movie...few funny scenes like the bank robbery , good sentiment and some action ! Not a bad entertainer at all.

My Rating - 6 out of 10!

If you think this movie is bad ... plz don't ever watch Stan Helsing !!

Not a big Triple H fan, but this was actually not the atrocity that I expected.

(Plot) A con filled with regrets is on the run to hide from his troubled past as a criminal. He decides to shield himself by sneaking into his field trip to be The Chaperone.

This wasn't exactly good, but it managed to be a hell of a lot better than I expected. It's fairly genuine in its approach, and Triple H (Paul Levesque) is actually non pretentious and likable, something I can hardly say about him in the WWE. The plot is nothing special and is something we've all seen quite a few times before done in different way. This is the type of family affair that most families will most likely groove to. It has just enough action to do an adequate job for adults, and its innocuous storyline will be just perfect for kids. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's really not that bad of a film. It's well made for the most part, and the cast is rather solid as well. Triple H proves he can be likable after all. He gets lots of digs taken at him for this, but he wasn't too bad at all. Ariel Winter is as cute as a button and she and Triple H play off one another well as Father & Daughter. Winter got on my nerves a couple times with her snotty attitude, but considering the circumstances, it was understandable.

Final Thoughts: It's not something I'm going to watch again. I don't care for Triple H at all, but I give credit where credit is due when it is deserved. It pains me to say this, but it's really not as horrible as you've been lead to believe.

It was actually alright...

Well this movie was somewhat of a surprise. Who knew that WWE could come up with something straight out of the Disney family movie production drawer?

The story is pretty simple and straight forward. Ray Bradstone (played by Paul Levesque) comes out from prison after 7 years of incarceration, and wants to reacquaint himself with his estranged daughter Sally (played by Ariel Winter). But friends from his old criminal past manage to convince Ray to do one more job. Then things get mixed up and turn complicated.

The cast in the movie did a good job with their roles, and I must admit that despite his wrestling career, then Paul Levesque actually did a good job with that role. And of course this movie, being a family movie, have lots of stereotypical characters in it.

"The Chaperone" is good entertainment for kids and adults alike.

Forgettable But Harmless

An ex-con is trying to go straight and be a good dad to his daughter. He agrees to chaperone his daughter's class field trip. However two criminal associates of his chase after him and hijinks ensue. This is a lukewarm attempt by pro wrestler Paul Levesque (aka Triple H) to follow the Rock into making family movies like The Tooth Fairy. It's not bad for what it is but I was kind of surprised to find it wasn't made for television. Levesque is perfectly fine in his role. He does nothing to impress or offend. It's nothing special but kids and people wanting to watch innocuous 'action' movies might like it. Also I guess big wrestling fans might like it.

Actually quite decent...

First off, this type of film probably wouldn't have usually appealed to me but as a wrestling and Triple H fan in my younger days I thought I'd give it a go.

I wasn't expecting too much here but actually found this to be quite funny and entertaining. You really can't take this movie too seriously, it's just a bit of fun.

I thought Paul Levesque actually acted quite well and came out with some funny lines.

All in all a light hearted action film that will probably be enjoyed mainly by wrestling fans who actually know who Paul Levesque is. I think that's partly what made it more enjoyable for me to see Triple H in a different way.

Decent enough entertainment so give it a go.

Don't call me Ray-Ray, it is just Ray.

I watched this on Amazon streaming movies. I was attracted to it mainly because it is set and filmed in places I used to live, I am always curious to see how the moviemakers handle that.

It is a theme used many times, a man gets out of prison after 7 years and has to try to get back in the good graces of his family. In this case it is mostly the young daughter who is about 12 years old. Paul Levesque is an imposing man, playing the ex-con Ray Bradstone who his old robbery mates called "Ray-Ray." In prison he has become a changed man and just wants to go by Ray. And get his family back.

Ray's daughter is in school in Lafayette (where I went to college some years back) and her class is taking an overnight trip to New Orleans. Ray quite accidentally gets to be a chaperone, much to the chagrin of his daughter. While the kids are trying to enjoy the field trip Ray is being hounded by his former partners who think he has the money from a botched robbery of the bank in Lafayette the day before.

The arc of the story is pretty predictable but I found it interesting to see how they got there. The movie overall is entertaining enough. Interestingly the daughter is played by Ariel Winter who probably was 12 during filming but doesn't seem to be in the cast credits. She was so small, it was quite a sight to see her standing or walking next to Levesque.

Plus the Lafayette scenes were filmed in Algiers near the bridge, not far from where my wife grew up and went to school, just across the river from downtown New orleans while the New Orleans scenes were filmed in and near downtown and the French Quarter.

Not a bad movie at all, just lightweight.

Pretty Good!

this movie is probably my favorite movie of World Wrestling Entertainment studios. great actors, especially Ariel Winter for a 13 years old girl. Paul wasn't so bad himself, i enjoyed the plot. enjoyed the story. i think it deserves better rating than its getting because its really a great movie.

8/10 cast were great, story was great. very funny too.

so my thoughts is that you should watch it because a movie like this deserves views, and probably Paul will get bigger as he grows ..

and now I'm typing this so i can finish of the 10 lines because i cant post this unless there are ten lines... bye

Better than Expected

I watched this film today and I have to say, it really isn't as bad as people or even the critics say it is. I believe Paul Levisque did an excellent job at playing a redeemed ex-con man who only wanted to spend time with daughter. I thought many of the others actors did great and the film was a total blast as it had some great moments of non-stop laughter. It really was a good film, but it's not as if I had not seen this kind of material before-hand.

I believe the many of the moments although very funny and excellent to watch, are quite cliché'd. I've seen this stuff before and even the plot is also nothing new. A man who comes out of prison, 7 years later, wanting to spend time with his daughter who he missed while being locked up. And then there is always a big issue once he is out (which this time is his so called friends, who wants him to come back into the life of crime. And this finally gets in the way of his daughter and his chance to re-connect with her again. It was great but like I said, its stuff I've seen before.

The plot and moments throughout are nothing new but I'm not saying I disliked the film, I'm saying that the film on the whole is awesome, but it feels like to many other kids or adults films I've watched in the past.

Aspects I loved the most in the film was when Paul's character Ray takes totally control of the classroom and makes some uncanny but very hilarious remarks saying dialogue which included "making them go through hard days of labor". I also like how the director continued to build a strong relationship which had been broken at the start of the film, with Ray and his daughter Sally. I really connected with how both were feeling throughout the film, understanding what they both wanted.

Much of the dialogue from the characters was quite serious, funny and true. I liked the combination.

The only real problem I had with the film was action scenes. We see a lot of violence in other WWE films, but in this there was hardly any. I wish I could have seen more. I'm not a WWE fan, but since I've seen a tone of violence and action in the many films that they have produced, I was expecting a little bit more hyped up action. Since it was a kids film, I might as well leave this aspect alone, but I wish there was more of that.

Overall, this is another film I think shouldn't have so much hate on it's shoulders. Its a good feel good film with funny moments, great actors and nice music. Even though the plot is clichéd', I'll give them props for their casting and great moments of comedy, as they did quickly had me attached to continuing watching this film. It's Better than Expected - 7.5/10

'THE CHAPERONE': Two Stars (Out of Five)

WWE superstar Triple H (also known as Paul Levesque) stars in this family action comedy which could be described as 'DIE HARD' on a kid's school bus! Levesque plays an ex-con, straight out of prison, trying to make amends with his daughter on a school field trip while his old crew chases them for loot money that's on their bus. The film is produced by WWE studios in another attempt to make a popular kids film and turn another one of their wrestling stars into a household film name. Triple H actually isn't a bad screen presence but as you can probably guess the film is horrible. It's directed by Stephen Herek (who's directed such popular youth films as 'BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE', 'DON'T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER'S DEAD', 'CRITTERS' and 'THE MIGHTY DUCKS') and written by first time writer S.J. Roth.

As soon as Ray Bradstone (Triple H) is released from prison his old partner Phillip Laure (Kevin Corrigan), who ditched him at the scene of the crime on the job Ray went to prison for, tries to get him in on a new bank heist. Ray wants nothing to do with Laure or his old life of crime and instead wants to bond with his young daughter Sally (Ariel Winter), who he hasn't seen most of her life. Sally wants nothing to do with Ray though and neither does her mother, Ray's ex-wife Lynne (Annabeth Gish). When Ray reluctantly decides to go along with Laure and their team on their latest crime scheme he instead decides to ditch them at the scene of the crime and throws the keys of the vehicle he's supposed to be the getaway driver for. He walks to the school bus directly in front of the bank his team is robbing and takes a position as a school chaperone on the bus instead. While his old crew is scrambling to getaway they accidentally ditch the bag of loot money on the school bus as well. So Laure and one of his goons begin chasing the school bus down in an attempt to get their money back.

The movie's set up is ridiculous and so is every other preposterous scenario in the film. Herek's directing is adequate but the script he has to work with is just bad. Like I said Triple H is a nice screen presence though and his acting isn't bad either, he's actually kind of natural. It would be nice to see him attempt something a little more serious and fitting next time though. The rest of the cast is hit and miss. Corrigan is great, like always, as the movie's lead villain, Yeardly Smith is decent as a school teacher and Ariel Winter gives an impressive performance as the movie's young co-lead. Gish is horrible in the film though and so are most of the other child actors. To be fair though the scenes with Gish are all bad melodrama which is when the movie most suffers. You could say that Arnold Schwarzenegger set the mold for this type of movie (tough guy action star teamed with a kid, or kids) with 1990's 'KINDERGARTEN COP' but actually Sylvester Stallone did it before that with his underrated 'OVER THE TOP' in 1987. Both of those movies are far superior to everything that's followed though (that I can think of, right now at least). While this is better than some (like everything The Rock and Vin Diesel has attempted) it's still no 'KINDERGARTEN COP' (or 'OVER THE TOP' for that matter).

I was quite impressed

Though I'm no wrestling fan, I am very familiar with the media presence of "Triple H" (Paul Levesque). Who says (former) wrestlers can't make the big screen? The Rock, Mr. T (before he switched to pro boxing), The Hulkster, Andre the Giant, etc.

Levesque is actually well-fitted in this role, and very convincing; for his first actual big screen debut. He certainly can act; no doubt about that. The on-screen chemistry he shares with costar, veteran actress Annabeth Gish, is the most surprising. They play brilliantly off each other. Gish is even more gorgeous today, especially in this film, than during her 80's 'Mystic Pizza' days where she portrayed mostly straight-laced, virginal school girl roles. And with more than 30 films to her credit, including a few television appearances, she certainly has earned icon status.

This film does NOT disappoint. I originally streamed it off Netflix, curious - seeing that "Triple H" was in the title. Again, very impressive. A must-see indeed.

This is good!

Triple H!!! He does really good in this one (not saying he's gonna win awards,, but, ya know).

He plays ex con trying to reestablish a relationship with his now teen daughter,, while trying to avoid resuming his former life of crime (that keeps trying to lure him back).

Now go watch it!

An Okay Family-Comedy

After serving time in prison "Ray Bradstone" (Paul Levesque) is finally released and returns to his home only to find that his ex-wife "Lynne" (Annabeth Gish) and his young, teenage daughter "Sally" (Ariel Winter) have started a new life on their own and want nothing to do with him. To make matters even worse, he finds extreme difficulty finding a job and as a result reluctantly teams up with some of his former colleagues who are planning a bank heist and want him to be wheel man. Right before that, however, he learns that Sally is going on a field trip to New Orleans and the teacher in charge named "Miss Miller" desperately needs a chaperone to help her out. Being terribly conflicted and confused he decides to join the school field trip at the last minute. The problem is that his decision is at the exact same time the bank robbery is in progress. Not only that, but as the school bus leaves the burglars all believe that Ray has double-crossed them and has absconded with their stolen loot. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was an okay family-comedy which suffered from a predictable plot and a rather weak script. Fortunately, both Paul Levesque and Annabeth Gish turned in solid performances and because of that I have rated this film accordingly. Average.

A pretty decent movie!!!

Well guys its my first review in IMDb. Thanks IMDb..

Yes now coming back to this movie The Chaperone (2011), well its a pretty decent movie from the beginning to end...However if you are expecting some high class action/thriller then plz u can step away..but if you are looking for a good time pass movie with a cup of coffee/tea in the Sunday afternoon with your kids then this is the movie u can rent. I am also impressed with HHH's acting. He should get more movie with better character. The pace of the movie is the same from starting to end and yes u can expect what will happen in the end however its a well directed movie (u wont get bored). In my rating this movie touched 3 out of 5 star. I know 3 is a bit high for some of you but yes some of you will agree.

IMDb Rating : 5.5/10 Suitable for Age 12 and above.

WWE makes some terrible movies.... this just adds to the pile

OK, before seeing any WWE movie, I don't really expect great acting, that is the way I just auto-think when I hear they made another movie. That being said, I tried to watch this with an open mind, didn't expect much at all but was interested to see if Triple H could fair better than his fellow wrestlers. Unfortunately although I found HHH a step above Cena, it wasn't enough to say the movie was good, but wasn't the worse. The support cast were OK doing the typical movie role of a family divided by a fathers (HHH) past, the same formula seen in many 80's and 90's family flicks, the first half hour was very painful to watch, bad beard and lines, but I have to admit it did pick up further along the movie.

I gave the rating a 2 out of 10 simply because the movie seems like a popcorn fodder affair, it's a movie not made to make us think, maybe a laugh here and there with a bit of action, bit of a throw back to the 80s.

I reckon these big wrestler types would suit better to horrors and thrillers if they are to keep sticking to 80s style movies.

Time To Play The Game!

Continuing their attempt to take over the comedy genre following the "massive success" of last year's Knucklehead, WWE presents The Chaperone starring sixteen year WWE veteran Paul Levesque AKA - Triple H. Now for me the last WWE "superstar" I wanted to see hit the big screen would be The Game, the man who has dominated WWE television for over a decade and will continue to dominate it for years to come not to mention being next in line to run the company once Vince Mcmahon finally kicks the bucket! But credit where credit is due and I have to admit that Trips makes for a passable leading man in this movie and would in no way be pinpointed as having no prior big screen acting experience as he holds his own against a decent supporting cast that includes comedy veterans Kevin Corigan, Yeardley Smith and Enrco Colantoni. The Chaperone is not a fantastic movie but then WWE Pictures have never released a fantastic movie so expectations will always be low, hence I cannot slate The Chaperone too badly as it achieves what it sets out to do as a fun inoffensive comedy that can be enjoyed by the entire family, just not a great one of course!

Has a good intention but falls short

Of course like most WWE films it's far from good, I must say though I'm very glad at least for once we see something other than John Cena in a WWE film but The Chaparone leaves with only a good message and fails with the humour and acting.

After spending 7 years in prison Ray Bradstone is finally released and has a plan to rebuild his life and reconnect with his ex-wife and teenage daughter. Through the course of 7 years Ray has been reading on better ways to control his life and become a better person, upon his release he is very convinced that everything will be OK within a blink of an eye... He couldn't be more wrong; at first his daughter rejects him and he starts to relapse on the very thing that put him in jail... robbery! When realizing what he has done he gives it his all for one last chance with his daughter, and everyone is in for the ride of a lifetime.

I'll start with the acting, like I said before it was great to see a WWE film without John Cena, but somehow the cast just seems to be very dry even though they have a good reputation. Triple H is in his first starring role as Ray Bradstone and I have to say he doesn't do a half bad job you can tell he's inexperienced but still a lot better than what you would think, but his attempt at a comedic approach really doesn't click and never really comes across funny but he gave an excellent effort. Kevin Corrigan as Phillip Larue was the worst, terribly unfunny and just plain irritating. Kevin Rankin as Goldy was better than Kevin Corrigan but still pretty bad, a few funny moments but nothing memorable. Ariel Winter as Sally Bradstone was great she's an excellent actress. Yeardley Smith as Miss Miller and Enrico Colantoni as Dr. Etman were probably the best always very funny and they never had a dull moment on screen I very pleased to see them, they were probably a key factor why the movie didn't completely fail.

Action sequences were pretty useless, very few of them but that's understandable sense this is a kids movie but when they were there nothing major happened Triple H just punched a few people and all ended in a predictable way. I hated how they put the camera in slow-mo and showed Triple H beating up like 5 or 6 guys at once it just looked plain dumb. There were many points where a good action sequence could have taken place but didn't or they were blown off by some lame attempt at a funny joke.

The storyline was definitely the best part of the movie while it has many flaws it has a very good message that even a criminal can be a good person and turn his life around and be a great contribution to society. I loved how the story was based around a man that was very connected to his daughter when she was young and then had to build the relationship back after a few wrong turns he has taken. Although a great message and great idea for a movie it doesn't fully deliver as it appears in many parts cluttered by trying to fit to many things in at once.

I'll end by saying the intentions of the movie were good but with only a couple of good actors and only the base of the storyline good we are left with an unfunny, cluttered, and dull film. If you're a fan of wrestling and the WWE and are a fan of Triple H maybe it'll be worth your while to watch it, even though I didn't like it I have no regrets about watching it.

Turned out to be pretty good

At first i thought " oh great another wrestler falls into the kiddie film trap"..(thank god the rock is working his way out of this) but as it turns out i actually enjoyed the film...by no stretch of the imagination is it a great achievement in cinema but i have only 2 criteria that make a movie good for me... 1. did it keep my attention? 2. Did it entertain me? This movie did keep my attention and did entertain me...so therefore by my logic a decent film... implausible plot...of course impossible action...duh but i cant stand when people criticize films because the plot just "couldnt happen" in real life...but that is why it's a movie!!! it is made to entertain at least one demographic...in the case of the Chaperone...it entertained more.

Watchable..barely

::Contains a very minor spoiler towards the end:: Was hoping for a fairly entertaining experience, but when I saw the WWE logo I knew it was going to be a tough movie to watch/keep interested in. The lead role, obviously a wrestler though I've never heard of him (I don't watch wrestling). His acting and script is as interesting and deep as what any wrestler does on stage. With a better written movie he might be OK, but this movie is seriously lacking in a realistic script and is full of clichés. Some of the actors/actresses do a fairly decent job and manage to make it bearable though there were several spots that made me just shake my head in disbelief. Take for example, the bank scene, the dialogue and events were so unbelievable I was tempted to turn the movie off. In the end, watch it if you have nothing else to do.

I just wanted to see Triple H

Well, I am 38, almost the same age of Triple H. I have seen guys like the Taker, Shawn Michaels, making their debut in WWE back in 1990-91 when I was 17. WWF and now WWE never went out of me. I remember Triple H as a well bred Englishman (Hearst Hemsley) having his first 'encounters' with Henry Goodwin. From Steve Austin becoming Stone Cold from The Ringmaster (as Ted DiBiase's henchman) to Triple H being taken out by Shemus, I was always there. Being a big Triple H fan, I was eagerly (well not exactly) looking forward to the movie. But the movie being a limited release, I had to wait till the DVD came out.

I am surprised that no one has reviewed the movie. Well, there is not much to review. Basically Triple H is an ex-con trying to get things straight with his family. Nothing new, of course. The usual syndromes and hiccups and all ends well.

If you are looking for anything else beside Triple H, you would be disappointed. Triple H, on the other hand is just being himself, which means he does comedy very very well as WWE fans would know. there is no action in the movie. I was really hoping Triple H would 'kick some butts' but it seems as he was revitalizing himself from injuries (in his real life) to get it along with Taker for WM 27, he thought why not tell dad-in-law to make a movie? He is of course funny. in a way, it didn't seem like acting at all. As I said, he just played the Triple H from DeGeneration X, just that without any crude humour. Children below 10 may like it while i suspect anyone above 10 would not enjoy it if s/he is not into WWE. I was expecting a few WWE Superstars to make a cameo (like they did in The A Team), but... Overall, even if you are a Triple H fan, you would not miss anything if you don't watch the movie.

Rest of the cast just sleep walked through their roles. I don't know why Triple H choose to debut as a main actor in a kid's movie, I mean unlike Cens, he has lots of adult fans who would love to see him in action in his brooding 'King of Kings' persona. but like I said, he probably just wanted to pass some time, nothing serious. There is another movie of his coming out (Inside Out), looks like an action movie although the given genre is Crime / drama Okay, okay, enough of my review, avoid the movie. Why I gave a 6 then, well I went to see triple H and he was in the movie, thats why. BTW, WWE Studios had better releases than 'The Chaperone'

Not as bad .. but still bad

The movie is watchable if you are bored. But it is still a stinker.

Acting by Triple-H was unexpectedly bad. Sorry but for a person who made a living following a script he can't act if his life depended on it. That was really horrendous acting.

The young girl was pretty decent, but a poor script limited her acting. But over all, she did a good job in her role compared to (most of) the other characters.

Unfortunately I can't say the same about the rest of the "junior" class .... lets say they need a better acting coach. Then again it could be just the poor quality of the script. Some of the lines were just plain stupid and made absolutely no sense.

Anyway, the movie is a stinker, but watchable. Just don't expect any quality acting on the part of the main star.

Throughly enjoyed this movie.

It was fun to watch and really appreciated the fact that the language and content never made me cringe or feel the need to put my defenses! I was surprised that is was a WWE movie, I will look for more of these. Thanks so much for a great evening of entertainment! Oh my, my review isn't long enough. LOL We recognized several of the actors and came to IMDb to see what we had seen them in before. The young lady playing Sally was excellent, and look forward to seeing her in other shows. I have already recommended this movie to friends and will recommend it to more folks! The story was somewhat predictable, but that didn't distract from enjoying seeing the characters play their roles. There were plenty of small details that were mentioned or shown briefly that popped up later in the movie as part of the story. I like it when details fit together and dislike it when parts of a story line are left unexplained and make a story seen disjointed. We both noticed and commented on this aspect of the movie while we were watching it.

Enjoyable, but a bit of a "tweener"

Just finished watching this one. I must say, it's much more enjoyable then I first thought. But then again, I wasn't expecting it to be completely bad either.

It's a nice movie to put away a small 2 hours time. Acting is stable, not impressive but it isn't bad either. I did however find myself to be continuously annoyed by Ariel Winter and her character. She has this "Something smells awful"-kinda look on her face and in the tone of her voice the entire movie. But then again, I'm not fond of small girls in big roles overall, so I guess it's more of a personal thing. I like the whole "modern spoiled children" thing that's going on. It gives a modern, almost recognizable vibe.

And dare I say Paul Levesque is really capable of some acting? I believe this is his first main character role in a movie, and he did what he had to. Be an impressive, intimidating man (being a pro-wrestler comes in handy here) at first, and on the other side a caring father a second later. His acting is, in my opinion, better then what I've seen from fellow WWE-ers Stone Cold, Kane (got to give him credit for being a scary S.O.A.* without any monster suit and special effects though), John Cena and Dwayne Johnson (although I haven't watched Fast Five yet).

And there in lies the negative part of this movie. I think it deserves a better score then the 4.5 it's getting right now. But this is a WWE Studios production. Not necessarily a bad thing from my point of view, but it's almost as if people click in there score for this movie the moment that WWE logo pops up. "WWE Movie, can't be that good" and thats it. And because of that, other people hesitate to watch. Lately however, I'm noticing a rise in quality in their movies, be it a small one. I think if they keep up the pace (small steps at the time) we one day might witness something really nice coming from their corner (Sorry, just couldn't let that one pass).

Last thing I want to mention is the "Tweener" part i revere at in the summary. "The Chaperone" has the same little snag that the "Narnia" movies have. It's a bit to adult for children, but it's to childish for adults. For example, we get full contact fighting and guns and stuff, but no blood is spilled. And that applies to the storyline as well. They combined two very basic plots together, and it came out somewhat unstable, not fully delivering either plot at it's best.

To sum it up; Enjoyable, a bit to long stretched movie that puts your brain in relaxation mode. Take in the last fact I mentioned, and you should do just fine sitting this one out.

contains stupidity, but is okay as a family movie or comedy

a friend came over with a copy of this movie, and we watched it together. the story is quite simple, and a little bit cliché. a former criminal gets released from prison, and wants to better his life. of course he got a child, with whom he has a broken relationship. how does this plot work? at first the story seems fine and serious enough, he wants to change and make some choices. but as soon as he gets to involved in a bank robbery, it goes down hill for the story. he gets some changes to be mature and do the right things, like in the beginning, but for some reason he does the stupidest things he can do. i think that it was the writers idea to get the story going, but it just seems so stupid and drain the movie for the seriousness, that made it interesting at the beginning. the ending hit the bottom. first of all, the children steal a bus, without consequences. oh, i guess they dropped the charges because they went after the bad guys? and the way that the police were alarmed (and how quick they arrived), really made me and my friend laugh, because it was so unintentional stupid. but despite all the stupidity, there were also a few good laughs from the comedy in this movie. how was the acting? the acting was, what you can expect from some B actors. not good, but also not that horrible. don't expect to much. what else to say? APPLE! yeah, apple must have been the main sponsor for this movie. its like a long commercial for their products. they not only mention, every single of their products several times, they also show them all the time. everybody has for example an iphone. i guess that they really needed the money from apple to make this movie, but all the product placement just seems ridiculous and cheesy. can i recommend this movie? in a way yes. if you can look beside all the stupidness, and want to watch a movie with your family, you may actually enjoy it. all in all it isn't that horrible as either a family movie or a comedy.
