There have been 14 Money in the Bank ladder matches in WWE since the first one took place at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. It’s a match concept that was created by Chris Jericho and over the last decade it has become a favorite match of WWE fans because of the excitement that surrounds it.
The first six Money in the Bank ladder matches took place at WrestleMania (WM21 to WM26) and then in 2010 it became its own PPV event with two ladder matches taking place. This year it’s back to just one ladder match because WWE only has one World Heavyweight Champion now.
