New Kids on the Block released a video for their new song “Bring Back the Time” last week that’s perhaps the most potent expression of nostalgia we’ve ever seen. It’s the past in its purest, most uncut form, like it was created in Walter White’s secret basement laboratory and injected directly into the veins of their fans.
The video, which doubles as a commercial for the group’s upcoming Mixtape Tour, features Rick Astley, Salt-n-Pepa, and En Vogue (who are all on the tour) re-creating classic...

Have mercy! You may find it hard not to cry all the tears when you see what Fuller House stars such as Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos, Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin did on and just after the show's final day of production. The hit Netflix sitcom, a sequel series to Full House, filmed its last episode of its fifth and final season on Friday. On Saturday night, the cast and crew celebrated at a wrap party, which featured the "She Wolf Pack"—Bure, Barber and Sweetin—performing some '90s karaoke. Barber shared a video of the three singing New Kids on the Block's "(You Got It) The Right Stuff" and the Full House theme...

Many TV viewers know Donnie Wahlberg for the way he helps solve crimes on the CBS drama “Blue Bloods.” Starting this weekend, they may come to know him for the way he does the same on Hln.
Wahlberg, known for his CBS role and his time in the band “New Kids on the Block,” will debut the documentary series “Very Scary People” on Sunday, March 17, at 9 p.m. eastern on Hln. Over six epsiodes that last two hours each, Wahlberg and producers will tell the stories of diabolical characters like John Wayne Gacy, the Reverend Jim Jones and Charles Manson.
The CNN sister cable outlet will make good use of that relationship, Wahlberg says. “The access to archival footage is just amazing. What we are able to do is really take you back to these places. You get fully immersed, and that really helps tell the story of these people...

Filmmaker Aaron Kunkel fashions an absorbing true-crime narrative with a danceable beat from the testimonies of exploited pop celebrities, bilked investors, criminal investigators and not-so-quietly aghast onlookers in “The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story.” Briskly efficient in its construction and execution, the documentary, which will be available to YouTube Premium subscribers starting April 3, focuses on the high times and low dealings of the Orlando-based music impresario and Ponzi scheme swindler who famously launched the groups *Nsync and Backstreet Boys — and infamously used their success to provide a patina of legitimacy for his complex web of bank and investor fraud.
Kunkel demonstrates his own instinct for showmanship by starting his story in the early 1990s, when Pearlman — a small-time, Queens-born wheeler-dealer who reinvented himself in Florida as head of an air-charter business — culled two groups of teenage hunks from the ranks of young entertainers at Disney World and other Orlando-area tourist attractions,...

Yes, Donnie Wahlberg knows you think he might be the Rabbit on “The Masked Singer,” and no, he cannot say if he is (duh).
During a panel promoting his new Hln show “Very Scary People” at the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday, the actor and New Kids on the Block member addressed the speculation that he might be the bunny who crooned Ricky Martin‘s “Livin’ la Vida Loca,” Avicii and Aloe Blacc‘s “Wake Me Up” and Bell Biv DeVoe‘s “Poison” on the Fox hit.
“Can’t answer that,” Wahlberg said. “I can only tell you that there’s a list of boy banders who are alleged … to be the Rabbit and I’m on the list. I think I’m trending third now behind Joey Fatone and Joey McIntyre.”

The Backstreet Boys first rose to fame in the early '90s with hits like "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and "I Want It That Way," and nearly 26 years later, their fan base is just as dedicated today. I first started listening to their music when I was 6 - Backstreet's Back was my first album, and their Black & Blue Tour was my first concert - and I'm still rocking out, thanks to the band's latest album, DNA. Their music has stood the test of time as their fans have grown up with them - something the band is incredibly grateful for.

After the power, presence and flash of Prince, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performances — not to mention the controversy of this weekend’s Maroon 5-Travis Scott spot — it’s hard to believe that the big game’s intermission show used to consist of college marching bands along with performers like the lily-white singing/dancing troupe Up with People and the late, great Carol Channing.
In retrospect, it’s surprising that it took 26 Super Bowls for people to realize the marketing potential a 12-minute show with an audience that is now estimated to be 100 million people — the single biggest audience for any musical performance on Earth. As the Stones, McCartney, Gaga and others have learned, it might be the best possible way to promote an upcoming tour.

New Kids on the Block fans were in for quite a surprise Monday when Mark Wahlberg joined the guys on stage at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Marky Mark has admittedly distanced himself from the fellas in the past 20 years, but as he told E! News Tuesday at the launch of Wahlburgers Coney Island, when he did reunite with NKotB it "was a trip down memory lane!" "I've worked a long time to kind of get away from that," said the Ted 2 star. "But to be able go back and share that with them and be supportive of them was nice." As for Mark's big brother, Donnie Wahlberg? Mark Wahlberg may be 44 years old, but to many, he’ll always be one of the New Kids on the Block. The “Ted 2” star made a surprise appearance with the boy band during a Main Event Tour performance at Madison Square Garden Monday night. That was the question on everyone's mind at the star-studded finale of American Idol on Wednesday.
Beckham, 22, and Fradiani, 29, bested 10 other finalists and thousands of other hopefuls during season 14, but in the end only one of them could be named the penultimate American Idol.

After last week's screwy episode, all bets are off on how Wednesday's (May 6) episode of "American Idol" will handle its performances and its elimination. In theory, we've got three performances coming up from each contestant tonight, but will we get three performances from the Top 3 following a mid-show elimination? If that's the case, does that mean that one contestant will have gotten the visit home, but will still be booted without singing thrice? Should we feel bad for Eddie Huang? The restaurateur whose memoir about his childhood inspired the current ABC sitcom "Fresh Off the Boat" went on a multi-post Twitter rant after this week's episode, complaining that, since the pilot, the show has drifted far from the reality of his own experience, to the point where "it got so far from the truth that I don't recognize my own life."
That's certainly unfortunate, even for a guy who received a tidy sum for the TV rights to his autobiography. No one wants to see his or her experience distorted and broadcast to millions. Then again, what did he expect? It's a network sitcom. It's generally going to avoid any bleak reality that can't be resolved in 22 minutes.

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins has a lot to do. Not only is TLC heading out on tour with New Kids on the Block and Nelly in May, but she's also in the middle of organizing a concert with charity network Chideo and - despite the fact that it's already well past what can be considered lunchtime - graciously waiting to dig into a plate of takeout sushi so she can give an interview to this reporter. In person, T-Boz's petite stature seems at odds with her outspoken personality and the chart-topping dominance she's known for. The R&B singer, eyes slightly shrouded behind a pair of purple shades, is taking a pause for our chat in the greenroom at the Grammy Museum in downtown La, where the fundraising concert will be held. The show will feature acoustic performances by T-Boz and friends, including Raphael Saadiq, and benefit the Sickle Cell Foundation.

I liked a lot of Friday (March 13) night's episode of "The Amazing Race," but maybe I didn't like it as an episode of "The Amazing Race," if you know what I mean. No? I really did find myself getting a kick out of all of the bickering couples, but I may just have been amused by how silly they made this season's twist/theme look. So Friday's "Amazing Race" episode was a Non-Elimination Leg and it always had the feel of a Non-Elimination Leg, because the process of escaping from Nagano in Japan to Phuket, Thailand proved absurdly difficult and "The Amazing Race" usually doesn't like to send teams home as a result of travel circumstances that are totally unavoidable. And this was a situation in where there were at least four flights departing Japan at wildly different times and even with an attempted equalizer in Phuket,...

"The Amazing Race" returns to Thailand on Friday (March 6) night's episode and it looks like things are going to be getting a little strange. The trailers for the episode have mostly concentrated on the zip-lining and subsequent drama, particularly with blind-daters Hayley & Blair, who are seemingly headed for an epic blow-up. However, it appears that a challenge in Thailand is going to make the pairs take part in a Thai nightclub act of some sort. Normally, I'd think that would be good news for Jonathan & Harley, since what are the New Kids on the Block if not a glorified Thai nightclub act. But this season has already demonstrated Jonathan's insecurity when it comes to choreography. So instead, this may be a chance for Vegas showgirl Jackie and blind-dating partner Jeff to take control? Check out the pictures below and check back tomorrow night for my full recap.

For years, Jonathan Knight performed in front of thousands of screaming girls as a member of popular boy band New Kids on the Block, but the pop star was hiding a huge secret.
"I think it's so funny, there was an article in a magazine and I was reading the comments and there's still so many people who were like, 'Wow I didn’t know he was gay,'" Jonathan tells Et. "It's just like, relax people, we're no different than anybody else."
News: Jonathan Knight and Partner Harley Rodriguez Go Very Public on 'The Amazing Race'
Knight says he never hid his sexuality, but was pressured to keep quiet to maintain the boy band’s heartthrob image. In fact, no one talked publicly about Knight’s sexuality until singer Tiffany outed him on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live.
"What he must have went through back in the day being in a boy band, if...

"The Amazing Race" giveth and "The Amazing Race" taketh away. Following a season that saw ratings drop on Fridays, "The Amazing Race" got a special Wednesday showcase after the "Survivor: Worlds Apart" premiere and with both long-running favorites instituting format twists this season, CBS was able to spare 90 minutes apiece for the two launches. Longtime readers know that I'm pretty insistent that you need to have at least a 90-minute premiere for "The Amazing Race," because the effort to establish 11 teams of 22 players while also giving the necessary exposure to navigating around international locations and for various challenges is almost impossible in only 60 minutes. I don't think "The Amazing Race" has ever had an entirely satisfying hour-long premiere. And the 90 minutes given to Wednesday's (February 25) "Amazing Race" premiere were enough to help me see some of the merit to the Blind Dating twist that gave us six teams of established couples,...

On the season finale of the New Kids on the Block’s reality series Rock This Boat, which follows the band during their time on a NKotB-themed cruise, Donnie Wahlberg finds two super fans and challenges them to a high-stakes game of high seas plundering.
It all began when Donnie saw the door decorations of two huge NKotB fans, and stopped in to their cabin to say hello.

"If Donnie Wahlberg knocks on your door and tells you that you did a great job, than you must have done something right," said one of the two fans, overjoyed that the singer picked their room to visit.
Inside their cabin, the two girls had turned the room into a NKotB shrine, complete with a life-size cardboard cutout that they had stolen from another part of the boat.
Instead of telling them to give it back...

Jonathan Knight of the '80s super group New Kids on the Block was always able to "blend in" when he was on stage with his four band mates, but now he's stepping into the spotlight as he competes with his partner Harley Rodriguez on this season of The Amazing Race.
Despite all of his years in the public eye, Jonathan has always suffered from anxiety behind closed doors, but he tells ETonline that appearing on CBS' hit reality competition, has helped him overcome his nerves.
"I am a very shy, reserved person, very anxious person. So I will say it gave me a lot of confidence," Jonathan reveals to ETonline of his Race experience.

The world is very familiar with Jonathan Knight from his New Kids on the Block fame, but they’re about to get to know his partner of seven years, fitness coach Harley Rodriguez, as the pair travel the world together on this season of The Amazing Race. ETonline recently sat down with the couple to talk about their experience on the hit CBS reality competition show.
ETonline: How did you decide to join the cast?
Jonathan: I've been a fan of the show forever. Actually, I was trying to get on the show for the past four seasons, and it just didn't work out until this year. They called and said we're doing couples this year, and we got to do it so I was pretty excited.
This season some of the cast are couples and some just met. Do you feel like you had an advantage because you've been together for so long?

As the music industry plans to hand out awards for the best of 2014, it’s hard not to reflect on the GRAMMYs ceremony that happened just 15 years prior. The year was 2000, but in actuality it was a reflection of 1999, when just about anything could happen. Jennifer Lopez launched her musical career, Britney Spears brought back the Catholic schoolgirl outfit, and TLC was suddenly a group again (and not just a TV channel). But the year was more than that. And the 42nd annual Grammy Awards attempted to capture that – for better or worst.
Play: Et's GRAMMYs Bingo Game
Let’s look back on all the glory of 2000 ceremony 15 years later.
1.The Dress.
Before she was J. Lo – or Jenny from the block – Lopez was just an actress-turned-singer. But you wouldn’t know it at the awards. When she walked out in the green Versace dress to present the first award of the evening with David Duchovny, the last...

They may not be able to name all the guys of One Direction, but the Backstreet Boys definitely know an *Nsync song when they hear it. Last week, Bsb sat down with E! News to play a boy-band trivia game, answering questions about everyone from New Kids on the Block to the Jonas Brothers. At one point, when they were asked to identify "Tearin' Up My Heart" lyrics, Brian Littrell started singing the song - and he may or may not have been mocking *Nsync. Check out the funny game above to hear their answers and find out which Bsb songs they love most, then watch the trailer for the Backstreet Boys documentary, which hit theaters last week.
