Voyager gets the lower decks treatment
MiloSuperSpesh8 September 2023
Takes 2 fun episodes and give them a fresh spin, with both humour, a hint of morale dilema and an extreme but still logical progression.

Voice acting as good as always, animation is still the usual quality,

They have made a subtle change to the opening theme scene and the season arc of what i'm calling the 'eradicator pod' is going to be interesting to see how they handle it's overpowered weapon. Speculation going crazy as to who / what it is !

It's the usual comedy, bit of heart, drama and shenanigains of LD.

Sometimes on a short run time show that length works for the story on this episode it feels a little rushed with so much going on.

just one (big) bit missing

Warning: Spoilers
So great to have Lower Decks back and see them (ok, almost all of them) get their well deserved promotions in the end. I am kind of curious wether this actually means some more character development, bc until now they are hardly moving forward. In the end of season 3 Mariner, being back on the Cerritos, finally was willing to act responsibly and wanted to be in Starfleet - and now she rejects the promotion, that felt kind of weird.

As for T'Lyn, the vulcan intern - her dry humour was only attempted, but not really funny. Besides that she doesn't really bring anything to the table, in fact, I think, she doesn't fit all, her pacing is kind of slow while everyone else is in overdrive.

As always the episode is full of memberberries, this time revolving around Voyager and while Tuvix in VOY was annoying, they give "him" a nice spin in LD. I just have one really big issue with this episode: They are on Voyager - but where ist everyone's favourite character? Where is the Doc? Yes, he kind of moved out, but still, what is Voy without the EMH? Really big miss.
