'My friend, Oscar.' was originally conceived by Director Brian Kaz as a short film amd acting thesis for its co-star Blake Balu. Early in the writing phase it was decided to attempt a Feature Length version instead, even though production had to begin almost immediately due to Mr. Balu's thesis deadline. The script was written in just two weeks, with storyboards, scheduling, locations, prop design, etc all taking place during filming as it was needed.
This film was made almost entirely by people who volunteered their time, talent, homes and businesses.
A song is featured by the Grindcore band, Flesh Parade from their album, "Dirty Sweet", at a key moment in the film.
