This film was the defining essence of my life for several years. I watched it right after it came out in 2010, and have watched it several times since. The moment young and innocent Bashir was killed, my heart was crushed. The thirteen shots that ended his life broke into my very soul. Imagine my surprise later in the film to find out that poor Bashir had not actually died. It was as if light had been returned to my world. This film captures the emotion of tragedy perfectly and allows death and rebirth to be seen in a new and startling way. Mahmoud Al Massad brilliantly captured this masterpiece of a film. In conclusion, the masterful cinematography and brilliant casting makes for a heart wrenching but later empowering experience. This is a must watch movie for everyone who enjoys film. I would watch it thousands of times if I could.
