Warning: Spoilers
The Darlene and Ben stuff was surprisingly not horrible tonight, but whenever The Conners turns into The Darlene Show it suffers and this was no exception. Just no originality to these storylines.

I think I'm out after this season
glitterrose26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Whether this show's picked up for another season or not, I'm out. I sat through this week's episode and I didn't laugh or even crack a weak smile at anything. I really think I stuck it out this long because I enjoy the original series and I still had hopes that somewhere down the line they could create their own magic and "The Conners" be as memorable as "Roseanne". I doubt I would've watched one episode if there hadn't been that connection angle.

So let's get down to the title of the episode and what it involves. Becky's seeing her professor now and it totally erases all the other stuff from prior episodes that talked about why she couldn't date.

We have more Darlene and Ben stuff. Darlene wants a house and it's easier for a couple to get a house than a single woman. Ben comes along for the ride even though Darlene has supposedly said her emotional goodbyes to the relationship. You know this is just a teaser for when they probably get back together by the end of the season. I'm over it and been over it. It's dull and boring. Why do the writers keep beating a dead horse when there's potentials for other storylines outside of romance?*

*And I do get it. Becky and Darlene haven't had the best of luck in men. This is part of the checklist that a lot of people desire. "Let me find somebody to spend the rest of my life with!" I feel like the series did Mark (Becky's husband) and David dirty. I see killing Mark off since Glenn Quinn's been dead. I'd rather they kill the character off than recast because I sincerely doubt anybody could capture Mark the way Glenn Quinn did. But Mark's not the reason Becky's life was a mess so there was no need in throwing him under the bus.

As for David, I'm not surprised Darlene and David's marriage didn't make it. But they shouldn't have turned David into a deadbeat dad either. I've pointed this out in other reviews. Have an episode point out the kids are hanging with David if the child actors aren't in the episode. Have Darlene talking on her phone and let it be known she's co-parenting with David on the other end of the phone. You don't have to have Johnny Galecki make appearances if he chooses not to.

I know I'm getting on the long side. Guess that last tidbit involves reading the other review mentioning this is a Men Bad! Episode. I guess that reviewer can also count me in the "glutton for punishment" boat. I'd really like to know the breakdown of this series. How many of y'all truly enjoy "The Conners" and how many hang on because there's at least one character or storyline you're into? How many are in this "I stuck with the series for this long because the source material was excellent and I had hopes this series would find its footing"?

The All Men Suck episode
davekrebs24 February 2022
Well Melissa Gilbert can check another box off her Hollywood woke list. Just suffered through the Men Bad! Episode.

God this show is terrible. But yeah I know I'm a glutton for punishment. There are still some minute traces of the old show there but just barely hanging on.
