Sex & Nudity

  • Plenty of uses of "fuck" in a sexual content. Some with animals (in a crude way)
  • A character goes on a long rant about how he was aroused by a woman. Kind of graphic
  • A prostitute is in an appartment fully clothed but her buttocks are seen when dropping her skirt back down. Prettty strong close up.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is beaten in a brutal fashion; his face becomes bloodied and he vomits blood and collapses as he is attacked, with the attackers continuing to kick him while he's on the ground. This is the most graphic and brutal scene of the movie, and many viewers will likely find it hard to watch.
  • Whilst the violence is infrequent, is is brief whilst brutal. Blood sprays are visible but are quick in a stylised fasion. A sequence with violence is also featured in slo-mo that shows the detail of gore.
  • A man gets thrown out the backdoor of a building. (He is ok)
  • Two men rob a poker-game; this includes threatening people with guns, yelling at them and hitting one guy in the chest with the butt of his gun.
  • A man is punched in the face. A small amount of blood is seen coming from his nose.
  • A man is shot in the head while in a car. The scene is dark which makes the bullet impact invisible to the viewers.
  • A man shoots another man in the background of a scene. We see a man fall to the ground.
  • A man is shot with a shotgun and gets launched back pretty far. (Mean't to be funny, not graphic)
  • A man is shot in the head offscreen.
  • We see two bodybags being brought into a morgue. Bodies are not visible.

Profanity

  • 193 uses of "fuck", with many other terms ('ass', "pussy", "shit", "bitch", "prick", "dick", etc). 2 uses of "cocksucker"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Very few scenes where a cigarette is not lit, with the main character smoking a cigarette in almost every scene.
  • A character is briefly seen wrapping his arm with a belt as he injects heroin, and the film depicts things from his point of view for an extended period of time. He rambles, zones out when someone tries to talk to him, has his eyes closed and his vision is very blurry while the sound is distorted when hearing someone speak from his perspective. He smokes a marijuana joint throughout at the same time.
  • Multiple scenes in bars, with one character being a drunkard (almost never seen without a drink for all of his screen time) who has a penchant for prostitutes.
  • A character who is addicted to heroin claims that he plans to become a major heroin dealer.
  • A character stashes heroin in a public locker facility

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Violence always appears out of nowhere so it may cause a mild jump of viewers. The sound effects are also very realistic and very loud.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A character is shot in the side of the head with a pistol at point blank range. Not graphic, some blood. He is then shot a few more times but nothing is seen. Not graphic but surprising
  • A man is shot from a distance with a shotgun. He falls back behind a car. A tracking shot ensues to reveal him bleeding out on the floor. He is then shot in the head with said shotgun. Brief and hard to see as the scene is dark, it appears that the back half of his head is blown off and the skin peels back. Most graphic part is the fact that he is crying on the floor as he is being approached

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A main character is interrogated and viciously beaten. The scene is long, horrific and violent.
  • After being shot with a shotgun from a distance, there is a long tracking shot leading to the man bleeding out on the floor. He is heard whimpering the whole time. Pretty distressing
