This film was shot on the same day as Pedro Esquirel and Dionecio Gonzales/Mexican Knife Duel/Mexican Duel (1894). Both films are considered the very first portrayals of Mexican people on movies (Oropeza's was filmed shortly after the other one). Both acts belonged to "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show" and were on tour near by Edison's lab. They visited the laboratories on October 6, 1894 and were filmed on the same day.
