Together Forever
nogodnomasters15 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the film in Italian with misspelled English subtitles (which=wich, can't=cont). Sandra (Francesca Faiella) and Guilia are twins who share a consciousness. Guilia gets killed by "The Surgeon" who later hangs himself. Now as an adult and a reporter, she goes back to "The Surgeon's" house to film Klaus Kinki (Paolo Ricci) making a gonzo porno with mixed genres.

Sandra senses and sees the ghost of her dead sister....and the killer is back. Then about an hour into the film I went WTF as the genres got mixed. It was like watching an Indian Jones film with Space Aliens. The genres come together in a sloppy fashion at the end...I think.

The language was a barrier. I didn't like how things unfolded with the clues that they gave, it seemed they just threw stuff at the screen.

PLOT SPOILER: The zombies looked like they came of the cover of "The Freeze" album (Rapid Reaction).

Guide: F-bomb, sex? brief nudity (Alessandra Aulicino)

A fun quasi Filmirage
BandSAboutMovies8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Fifteen years ago, Sandra lost her twin sister Giulia in the woods - they have twin telepathy - but after Sandra steps into a bear trap, Giulia is killed by a serial killer named The Surgeon. Years later, he kills himself and takes away any chance that Sandra would ever be reunited with her sibling when he killed himself and took his secrets with him.

Now, she's a reporter and her partner Marco joins her as they shoot a behind the scenes feature of Klaus Kinki's latest adult film, which just so happens to be shot at the mansion that once belonged to The Surgeon.

Sandra feels that this will be a way to get over her sister's death, Marco discovers that he may have a future in porn and oh yeah, the murders start all over again. And perhaps Sandra keeps seeing her sister's ghost. Then Sandra finds Giulia's body. So yes, The Surgeon may be back, but now his victims come back from the dead.

Is the movie just an adult film? Or has Kinki decided to start making snuff? Is Giulia's ghost on her sister's side? How did The Surgeon survive? Or is it a copycat? Man, a lot of questions!

A post-Filmirage Italian movie that feels like it belongs in the 80s in the best of ways, this even has gore from Sergio Stivaletti and music from Claudio Simonetti and this all pleases me. My quest to find horror made in this century from Italy continues!

Very low budget Italian horror flick
Leofwine_draca14 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
BLOODLINE: VENGEANCE FROM BEYOND is a very low budget Italian horror flick that takes inspiration from various styles and genres. It's essentially a torture porn vehicle which features a mad scientist conducting weird experiments that reminded me of ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST a little. There are also zombies and some supernatural bits included. One scene is set at a racy porn shoot. You do get the feeling that the writer was adding in all sorts of stuff in a bid to make something stick, but his efforts aren't really worthwhile.

My Review Of "Bloodline"
ASouthernHorrorFan1 March 2013
Edo Tagliavini's "Bloodline" tells the story of Sandra who returns to the location of the horrors that befell her family 15 years earlier. Now as a journalist she is forced to relive the nightmares again as the ghost of her dead sister tries to save her. Part giallo and part supernatural horror story "Bloodline" is all Italian genre movie making. The film has the young woman going back to a nightmarish past while on assignment to document the behind the scene affairs of a genre bending porn director's new project. It stars Francesca Faiella, Virgilio Olivari, Marco Benevento, Alessandra Aulicino, Monica Citarda and Valentina Del Rio. Edo Tagliavini is the same director that has most recently been featured in the Foreign horror anthology "P.O.E. Poetry of Eerie" and "P.O.E. Project of Evil".

In "Bloodline" Tagliavini brings to life a bizarre horror story that has a heavy giallo atmosphere of somber despair, dark sinister shadows reminiscent of slasher movies and the added horrors of supernatural grandiose. The acting is very well done by Indie standards with a very dark and serious story that flows perfectly with the Italian dark humor that plays on elements of satire. The film is subtitled so if you "don't do subtitles" then your not going to care for the movie. The effects are awesome and gory in true Italian fashion. There is a slow and steady crescendo in to the story with very little intensity through a lot of the film which allows for a more personal connection with the characters before the nightmare is unleashed but it is so worth the patients. "Bloodline" is a wild ride into the pit of hell and excess told in a style only Italian horror can create. I really enjoyed this movie.

A nice return to form for Italian horror
Woodyanders28 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A vicious madman known as The Surgeon conducts sick experiments deep in the woods. Journalists Sandra (a fine and sympathetic performance by Francesca Faiella) and Marco (solid Marco Benevento) find themselves running afoul of this maniac after they are assigned to document the making of a porno movie being shot in the same area. Director Edo Tagliavini, who also co-wrote the lively and eventful script with Mario Calamita and Taiyo Yamanuchi, relates the enjoyable story at a quick pace, does an able job of crafting a good deal of tension as well as a dark creepy atmosphere, draws the main characters with refreshing depth, delivers a handy helping of nasty gore, and tosses in both a spooky ghost and ferocious zombies for good measure. Moreover, the sound acting by the capable cast keeps the picture humming, with especially sturdy contributions from Virgilio Olivari as charming hunk Tony, Paolo Ricci as austere and demanding director Klaus Kinski, Francesco Malcom as the insecure Riccardo, and Valentina Del Rio as the depraved Samantha. Claudio Simonetti's ominous and energetic score hits the spirited shivery spot. Marina Kissopoulos' crisp widescreen cinematography provides an impressive polished look. Kudo are also in order for Sergio Stivaletti's excellent make-up f/x. Recommended viewing for fans of Italian horror.

From Argento to Fulci in one short homage
rdoyle2926 May 2013
Sandra (Francesca Faiella) and Marco (Marco Benevento) are journalists doing a story on drug dealing. When faulty equipment blows their surveillance of a gang of dealers, they are pulled from the story and assigned to cover the production of a pornographic film by a director who's becoming famous for his genre-bending productions that use a combination of amateurs and professional actors. They are by no means excited to cover this story, but they are given little choice.

Sandra has particular reasons not to want to cover this film. When she was a young girl, her twin sister Giulia and herself were attacked by the Surgeon, a psychopath who kidnapped people in order to surgically remove their organs. Sandra escaped when she was injured and Giulia acted as a diversion to allow her escape. Giulia was never seen again. The film is being shot in the same location as this attack.

On their first evening covering the film, Sandra and Marco hear rumours that the Surgeon has been sighted in the area, many years after his supposed death. It's not long before members of the crew start disappearing and the Surgeon seems to be the culprit. Sandra and Marco stumble upon his hideout … and the film takes a really odd turn.

"Bloodline" is a modern giallo, and like many modern takes on the genre, it reproduces a lot of the plot elements of the genre without reproducing the style. As such, it's an interesting, but not particularly rewarding film. I was prepared to write it off as a curiosity until a completely unexpected change in genre happened during the last third of the film. Without giving too much away, the last third is an escalating series of bizarre events that takes the film in genuinely unexpected directions. Worth a watch, if only for this last third.

This was a nice gory venture from Italy
anthonyandsandy4 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
(Please note I did just receive this film last month from the North American Distributor)

This was an unexpected film from the studio that sent me screener's for this film-9 Days and Sloppy The Psychotic-the latter I received the film direct from the filmmakers. I enjoyed this film for a variety of reasons the film centers around a man they call "The Surgeon" who snaps when his wife dies as they do not have what it takes at the hospital to save her life with body parts so he goes on a killing spree to get body parts to stock up on. So I realize that this sounds similar to that of other horror films bent on vengeance but this is done somewhat differently it also is from Italy and has subtitles-there half the audience just left right? If you are a horror fan like myself then you will watch any films you can get your hands on and for me that is all genres. There are some graphic removal of body parts so be warned if you find and watch this. The premise is that surrounding a porn movie and they are shooting the film with The Surgeon running around killing members of the crew. Then the films takes a detour and some of the people come back as zombies-this part of the film really lost focus and would have played better had they just stuck to the original storyline. But all in all the acting was really good and the special effects were also top notch.

Bloodline - A movie by Edo Tagliavini
infopaoloricci3 October 2014
Sandra and her colleague Marco are instructed by their boss to create a service on the backstage of a pornographic film "auteur" as some sort of blackmail to not be redundant: everything would be normal journalistic routine, if the location was not the one where, 15 years earlier, was killed the sister of Sandra by a serial killer called "Il Chirurgo". Sandra decides to accept the job, but being involved in a new series of brutal crimes.

Notes:

After participating in several national and international Festival, the psychological horror "Bloodline" was released first in America and then finally arrived in Italy, his country of origin, in full Christmas period thanks to "Distribuzione Indipendente" which covers a alternative circuit of cinemas.

The film was shot digitally and with few economic means, but in the United States is considered the indie movie of the rebirth of the horror genre in italy. Not surprisingly we find the special effects master Sergio Stivaletti and the music of the composer of "Profondo Rosso" Claudio Simonetti, two names that have made the history of Italian horror.

The cast starred the actress is emerging Francesca Faiella, but there is also the former porn star Francesco Malcom. Really interesting performance of the actor Paolo Ricci in the role of Klaus Kinki.

The director Edo Tagliavini has been the winner of numerous awards for his royal including the "Golden Globe".
