Heino Ferch on revenge trail Warning: Spoilers
This is a 2011 movie written and directed by Mark Schlichter, a fairly experienced television filmmaker, who has acted in several projects already as well. It runs for 90 minutes as most of these films do and basically tells us the story of a dishonored cop who clears his path in order to find justice again. Apart from Ferch, who plays the main character, this film also has Elyas M'Barek, one of Germany's rising stars right now, though not a particularly gifted actor in my opinion. The other cast members are pretty much unknown, even to German audiences. It's a crime thriller with some references to Turkish culture and a mole (or several) in the police department.

Ferch already made one "Spuren des Bösen" movie when this one here was made. If you enjoyed it, you can take a look at "Spuren des Bösen". There are one or two new 90-minute episodes out there each year and the story is fairly similar to this one. Ferch also plays a cop struggling with his personal and professional life. In this movie here, he gets out of jail after he had to serve a four-year-term for something he didn't do. (obviously!) It's a solid film in terms of the usual cop-on-revenge-mission perspective. No moments of truly great movie-making and certainly nothing we have not seen already in this kind of movies, but if you like the genre, you will have a decent time watching. Recommended.
