Noel Clarke writes, directs and stars in Brotherhood. Here's the trailer for the Kidulthood and Adulthood follow-up...
This August, Noel Clarke completes the trilogy that he started with Kidulthood and continued with Adulthood.
The new film is Brotherhood, that Clarke is directing from his own screenplay. And we have both a 12A rated trailer, and a more explicit promo for the movie. Do not go watching the latter if you’re young and impressionable.
Finally, here’s the synopsis…
BrOTHERHOOD follows Sam as he faces up to the new world after Adulthood and realises it also comes with new problems and new challenges. Sam knows that to survive he must face his issues head on, and knows he will require old friends to help him survive new dangers. For those who have seen Inside Out, it’s a scary movie: the fear of moving away, of being unable to feel anything at all, of having your childhood memories that most defined you erased in the existential dilemma of growing up. Heavy stuff.
But it’s not quite a horror movie, and some now very unhappy kids got just that when they attended a screening of the film, only to find out that the theater had accidentally screened the horror movie Insidious: Chapter 3. Oh what’s the difference? The first five letters are the same!
The event occurred in Middletown, Ohio as reported by the city’s Journal-News, in which the writer quotes an angry parent who said she got her money back but already had her children scarred by the mistake. “Moore said images of children being tied up and murdered appeared on the screen, and the...

• Tom Hiddleston (Thor: The Dark World) is attached to star in High-Rise, an adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s 1975 novel about a luxury residential unit. Hiddleston would play Robert Laing, a doctor who loves the idea of the tower, becomes obsessed with the architect, and gets embroiled in the complex mess surrounding the building. In the book, the building isolates the residents from the outside world and societal niceties soon devolve as residents segregate themselves by class and eventually regress to a primitive hunter/gatherer culture. Ben Wheatley (Doctor Who) is set to direct. [Variety]

The big story
It's not clever, and it's not funny. Cinema and comedy violence have gone hand in hand for many years and one man – who's dealt out his share of hilarious eyepokes and sidesplitting fingercrushings – has decided to call a halt. Yes, Jim Carrey – the man who wrenched out someone's heart, and handed it back in a doggy bag (in a movie, of course) – took to Twitter to complain that things had gone too far. He was referring specifically to Kick-Ass 2, the sequel to a movie that was, admittedly, well known for his epic levels of comedy ultraviolence. "All good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," wrote Carrey. Of course, he is by no means the first actor to turn on the film he is supposed to be promoting; just look what happened to...

As announced back in March, Skins is set to return for a final time next year, and E4 and Company Pictures today announced the details of the new series.
It will mark a departure in style and will see three former stars returning to the roles which shaped their careers in three individual stories, each one broadcast in two, one hour parts.
Written by series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain with Jess Brittain, the stories go into new territory; more adult, more uncompromising. Each two part story centres on the characters now in their early twenties, the party's over and they're starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times.
Kaya Scodelario, the only cast member to appear in all previous six series of Skins, returns in Fire, written by Jess Brittain.
Effy has a dead end job as a receptionist for a leading London Hedge Fund.

Scott Hamilton has been recuperating since last summer from surgery to repair a brain aneurysm but the Olympic champ is ready to return to the ice. "I need to get back to work," Hamilton tells People. "It's really frustrating being a public person and being more well-known for your illnesses rather than your accomplishments. Enough already!" Hamilton, 52, is about to get his wish. In late March, he is planning a return to skating, once he receives a clean bill of health from his doctors at the Cleveland Clinic and the effects of blood thinner medication to wear off. "I love...
