Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2024 is missing a certain amount of original series firepower. In the place of a blockbuster like The Handmaid’s Tale or Shōgun, however, is some content diversity.
The first of the month sees the premiere of four-episode British series Shardlake. This mystery drama takes place during the reign of Henry VIII and features none other than Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) investigating a murder. Other series of note this month include the Korean drama Uncle Samsik on May 15.
Movies are bit more interesting on Hulu in May. Teen comedy Prom Dates premieres on May 3. That will be followed by the 2023 Adam Drive film Ferrari on May 24. Before all that though is the real heavy hitter. You can watch Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance as The King in Elvis as early as May 1. It’s a fairly packed month on Hulu this February thanks to the addition of some interesting TV shows from FX and ABC. While the streamer’s own original content is somewhat limited – Life + Beth is returning for season 2 – you can also catch the new series of Feud this month. The new installment in Ryan Murphy’s juicy anthology show is based on the bestseller Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer, and tells the story of Truman Capote’s betrayal and fall-out with New York’s most glamorous socialites. The cast is absolutely stacked, with Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny and Calista Flockhart all swearing delicious revenge on Tom Hollander’s Capote.
Also via Hulu in February comes the third season of Abbott Elementary, along with new episodes of The Connors, The Good Doctor, Will Trent,...

The entertainment industry is in a weird spot right now. Streamers and studios keep purging exclusive material that hasn't made the jump to physical media, seemingly intentionally creating a new library of lost media in favor of tax write-downs. The AMPTP has forced a dual strike between the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, effectively shutting down the industry and already making a huge dent in box office performances. Streamers and studios are definitely feeling the hurt and looking to make money in whatever way they can, which includes smacking users on social media with Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedowns, an attempt to prevent anyone from unofficially using copyrighted material that doesn't belong to them. The fear is not just that people could be leaking footage ahead of release, but that providing the clips for free online will hurt the studio's bottom line or allow a non-involved person to profit off of sharing the shows,...

On Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Steve Carell stopped by to chat about his ultra-cool life, which casually involves working with Cardi B and Billie Eilish. Well, sort of working with them. Opening up about collaborating with the music artists, the 57-year-old actor dropped a couple of truth bombs about how deep his connections to Cardi and Billie really are.
Although Steve and Cardi appeared together in Pepsi's Super Bowl ad in January, they didn't actually film together, the Beautiful Boy star revealed. "It's a tragedy," he said.
He also worked with Billie - an avid fan of The Office - from afar when the young singer called to get permission to use dialogue from the sitcom in her song "My Strange Addiction." Even though they didn't meet in person, Steve said speaking with Billie earned him some major cool points with his kids, Annie, 18, and John, 15. "It...

Attention, Dunderheads: Billie Eilish is one of us! That's right, the 17-year-old "Bury a Friend" singer is a major fan of The Office. The rising star even samples an episode of the beloved series in her song "My Strange Addiction," from her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? In the track, we hear clips from The Office's season seven episode "Threat Level Midnight," during which Michael Scott (Steve Carell)—aka Michael Scarn—teaches everyone how to do the "Scarn Dance" in his action movie. So what inspired her to include dialogue from the 2011 episode in that specific song? Billie recently admitted that The Office is her strange...

Former Counting On star Derick Dillard is clearly still bitter about being fired from TLC. The 29-year-old took to his favorite platform to slam the network after a commercial featuring Ellen DeGeneres (who is an out-and-proud lesbian) aired during a recent episode. "Loving the Ellen commercial in the middle of #countingon @derickmdillard @JessaSeewald @Jeremy_Vuolo @jillmdillard," someone tweeted, to which he replied, "Yeah hopefully it moves to UPtv soon." UPtv currently airs Bringing Up Bates, another large-family reality show featuring the Duggars' friends. The user then asked, "Which one is more offensive to you: My Strange Addiction or I Am Jazz or Sex Sent Me to the ER? Inquiring minds need to know." He responded in classic Derick fashion with, "I don't watch any of them. I'm now aware of them, but I encourage others not to watch the filth on TLC... and other networks, but you brought up TLC shows.

You know a network is looking for ratings when they begin to host shows such as My Strange Addiction. Despite being cringe-worthy to many, TLC has pushed this show in order to showcase just a few of the strangest addictions known to mankind and has managed to alienate a few viewers in doing so. Where TLC usually seems to show depictions of families and individuals that truly need help or are in some way a great example of what people should aspire to, this show is a miracle in that it has none of that. TLC's show My Strange Addiction featured some seriously weird obsessions, including eating all kinds of things. And we don't just mean people were addicted to pickles or hamburgers or chocolate. Nope, we're talking more along the lines of drier sheets or pebbles or plastic. Those aren't even the least of it — some of the show's participants took things to an even higher level of horrible. Check out the video above to see the most awful things people put in their mouths on My Strange Addiction. See what we mean? Things got bad on that show. And though chewing on dirty diapers only made number two on the list, we still can't get over it. The woman addicted to drinking her own urine was bad enough, but at least it was her urine. Keyshia, on the other hand, loves the smell and, apparently, the taste of baby urine — to the...
