[Editor’s Note: Spoilers for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Season 5, Episode 10, “Game Night” follow.]
The Fox comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” for reasons made obvious by its title, chose to celebrate its 99th episode last week, putting the spotlight on each character during a crazy road trip from Los Angeles to New York. But it also included a big reveal that became a central part of the show’s 100th episode, “Game Night” — Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), the show’s resident badass, coming out as bisexual.
Rosa’s coming-out, showrunner Dan Goor told IndieWire, was a story choice made in close discussion with Beatriz this season. “In a way, after Stephanie came out, and has really in so many ways become such an Lgbt advocate, we felt like it was really a meaningful opportunity for the character, and it definitely felt in-world for the character. It didn’t feel like, you know, we didn’t feel like people would be like, ‘What?!’ You know, and 100 episodes in it feels like a good,...

This week sees the release of a genuine, old-fashioned murder mystery with the Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express. Not far behind, naturally, is the latest comedic take on the genre, Game Night. Set in the present (unlike examples such as Clue and Murder by Death), the movie seems to be inspired by classic interactive dinner theater experiences where you take part in a fake murder mystery scenario, maybe aboard a river cruise or in a creepy mansion. But the plot involves an all-too-real form of augmented reality for a group of friends during their regular gaming get-together, as this time they have to solve an actual murder. Mystery comedies work best when they have a great ensemble, and Game Night appears to have value...

Megyn Kelly’s NBC primetime debut topped CBS’ “60 Minutes” repeat among adults 18-49 and 25-54, but it did not in terms of total viewers. Of course, ABC dominated Sunday with Game 2 of the NBA Finals anyway. “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly” bowed to a 0.8/4 and 6.1 million viewers. CBS’ “60 Minutes” received a 0.6/3 and 6.6 million viewers. Both aired at 7 p.m. ABC was first in ratings with a 4.9 rating/18 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 13.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 7, “Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night”...

ABC rejected all competition Thursday with Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which itself was down 5 percent versus last year’s tip-off contest between the same two teams. With a fairly steady “Beat Shazam” against “Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night” and “NBA Countdown,” Fox finished second in the key 18-49 demographic. The network was fourth, however, among total viewers. Due to the nature of live sports, these fast national Nielsen numbers should be considered unreliable for ABC. Final numbers for the start of the Finals will be available later today. Last Episode’S Review: Live In Every Time Zone, It’s Jimmy Fallon
Last night, for just the second time in series history, “Saturday Night Live” went live in all U.S./Canadian time zones. First-time host and card-carrying member of the Hunky Chris Squad Chris Pine anchored the broadcast, which makes him the only “SNL” novice NBC tapped for the season’s fully live gigs. (Veteran hosts Melissa McCarthy and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are due up next.) Whether it’s for novelty, timing or ratings, there’s something undeniably magical about the live-live show, so does it really matter how Chris Pine and his sweet baby blues fared? Well, yes, actually. But we’re in luck: He crushed it.

Chris Pine gets that there are a lot of handsome, scruffy white guys named Chris in pop culture today, and he's tired of the confusion.
Pine proved his point as he walked out onto the Saturday Night Live stage over the weekend to the cheers of the audience and said he was there to promote his new movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. After a roar of applause, an mock-exasperated Pine complained how everyone confuses him for the other Chrises
"See? See? I knew that was gonna happen! I'm not in Guardians of the Galaxy! That is Chris Pratt," Pine explained. "I am Chris Pine."

Justin Timberlake has been hard at work on the set of a new Woody Allen project in NYC for the last few weeks, where he's been spotted filming a scene as a lifeguard (in an amazing, old-timey bathing suit) and having a heated argument with costar Kate Winslet. The film is reportedly a romantic drama set in the 1950s, which accounts for all of the vintage ensembles he's been sporting lately. His Tuesday filming session with Kate and actress Juno Temple was no different. The actor, who celebrates his fourth wedding anniversary with wife Jessica Biel on Wednesday, looked like he'd stepped straight out of a time machine as he shot some scenes while rocking high-waisted khakis and a white polo. If anything, this only proves that Jt would look damn good in any era. Related:Jessica Biel "Scrabblebrags" During a Game Night With Justin Timberlake...

Many in Hollywood pair Suzanne Todd with her younger sister and producing partner Jennifer, long known as Team Todd. They produced a raft of movies together, many at freewheeling New Line Cinema, including teen coming-of-age classic “Now and Then” and Mike Meyers’ Austin Powers franchise. They also put on the map Christopher Nolan (“Memento”) and Ben Younger (“Boiler Room”). And while they both produced Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” with Joe Roth at Disney, for its sequel “Through the Looking Glass,” Jennifer was busy running Pearl Street Films, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company, while Suzanne carried on with the “Alice” sequel. And so she went solo on “Bad Moms,” which Stx opened well this weekend.
