Skeletons in the Closet is the latest film from director Asif Akbar. After sitting through several abysmal films he’s directed, most recently Clown Motel as well as an even larger pile of duds he was a producer on, I knew enough not to have high expectations. Even that wasn’t enough preparation for what I was about to endure.
Mark and Valentina are dealing with financial problems. Those problems are about to get a lot worse, as instead of the raise he was expecting, Mark gets a pink slip. As if that wasn’t enough bad news, their daughter Jenny’s has brain cancer and the doctors are willing to let her die unless Mark and Valentina can come...

If you thought supermarkets rushed the holidays on us, they’ve got nothing on Tubi. For the latest Tubi Original, they’ve skipped right past Christmas to give us Dante’s Hotel, a New Year’s Eve-themed horror film that begins on New Year’s Eve 1975 in the Dontene Hotel. A young Daniel Brayer axe in hand, stands over twelve dead bodies including those of his parents.
Twelve years later it happens again and Daniel is there again. Both times however the bodies vanish before they can be taken to the morgue leaving Daniel a free, if very troubled man who has taken up permanent residence in Room 1224.
For 2023 the hotel has hired Goldie to run their New Year’s Eve bash. It’s an anniversary for her,...

The Island wastes no time in establishing just how evil its villain, Manuel is. As he’s talking to Nora, a singer auditioning at one of his properties, the waiter spills her drink on her. His response isn’t to fire the man but to stab him in the neck and tell the shocked woman, “Go get cleaned up, you work for me now.”
In Los Angeles Mark and his partner Phil are working undercover setting up a drug bust. This being an action film it naturally goes bad, but that’s not the worst thing Mark is going to have to deal with today. He gets a call telling him his brother has been murdered on the island where they grew up.

Sheroes, the writing and directing debut of producer Jordan Gertner begins with a look into the lives of its four leads Diamond, Ezra, Ryder and Daisy.
Their lives are so hard that all of them end up exclaiming “This is such fucking bullshit” at the misery of private yoga lessons by the pool, selling art in an upscale gallery, being an actress or a professional skateboarder. You really feel bad for these poor young ladies and totally understand their need to jump on Diamond’s father’s private jet and fly to his villa in Thailand for a booze and drug-fueled vacation.
Complications and cliches ensue when one of their suitcases is accidentally switched with one full of cocaine. Which they proceed to snort the hell out of only to wake up the...

This post contains spoilers for HBO's "The Last of Us" and the video game series of the same name.
Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) have come a long way since they first met begrudgingly in "The Last of Us," and the two have now encountered a critical life-altering turning point in the season finale of the show. Faced with the reality of losing Ellie forever, Joel makes a choice that was not his to make, hence dooming humanity's chance at surviving the apocalypse while inadvertently setting Ellie on a path of angst-fueled by survivor's guilt. Although Joel's decision to save Ellie emerges as the emotional crux of the episode, one of the most gut-wrenching emotional reveals has to be the heartbreaking story behind Ellie's handy switchblade. Although Ellie has handled guns and other machetes throughout the series, the switchblade still remains her go-to weapon, as it is more...

Manchester Orchestra have readied The Valley of Vision, a new album that doubles as a virtual reality film. The project begins streaming on March 10th, and today, the band have shared the new song “Capital Karma.”
Produced by singer Andy Hull and guitarist Robert McDowell, The Valley of Vision strays from Manchester Orchestra’s usual alternative rock sound in favor of disquieting piano music. Hull reflected on the album in a statement, noting, “Making The Valley of Vision was an exciting idea of what the future could be for us in terms of how we create. None of these songs were written with the band being in the same room in a live setting. They were really like science experiments that started from the bottom and were added to gradually over time. We’re intrigued by doing things the wrong way, or attempting things we haven’t done before and getting inspired by them.
