- (Himself): I was never concerned with the subject matter. From the beginning I wanted to work in an abstract nature. I guess if you could say that I have rejected anything, the picture making, the story telling approach may be the one thing that I have consistently not used. I just feel that it is not necessary.
- (Himself): Some artists do function in relation to beauty, try to make beautiful things, and see that as their role, to provide and make beautiful things for people. But, I know I don't work that way. My work does come out of being frustrated about the human condition, how people refuse to understand other people, how people can be cruel to other people, it's not even that I'm interested in thinking that I can change that but it's such a frustrating part of the human condition because it's in human history that these things go on.
- (Herself): There's nothing I like better than a huge dose of frustration and tackling an image or a problem that I can't conceive how it will ever be done. I've no idea what their value or worth is, I'm not sure what their meaning is but it is just so important to me to try to paint the impossible.
