Allen Ginsberg wrote the source poetry at The Beat Hotel, 9 rue Git-le-Coeur, Paris and the exterior of the hotel is actually used in the film.
Sequences at the grave were filmed in the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris which is also where Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde are buried.
The appearance of Kasia Halpin as The Girl in the 'Last Supper' sequence in the film was actually an outtake from Saunders' previous film "Curses and Sermons" which also starred Philip Bulcock in the lead role.
