Francesco Quinn - Anthony Quinn's son - makes his second appearance in this show and two months after this aired, he was dead from a heart attack.
The scene where Jim sneaks up upon Saldivar as he is smoking his cigar on Jim's patio, was shot at two different locations. The first part, as Jim moved toward Salvidar, was filmed on the stage. The second, as Jim moved the gun slowly toward Salvidar's head, was shot on location in Hollywood on South Northlake Drive, at the home which acts as the exterior set for the studio.
The Saldivar Social Club was shot at a Cuban-based Art & Research Center. All of the cigars in the scene were hand rolled by the local Cuban cigar rollers who live and work in the Calle Ocho area.
The vehicle used in the explosion scene was the same year, make, and model of Jim Longworth's Dodge Charger. The color was painted on the shell but the engine and drive line were removed to make room for the explosives.
In season one, Jim carried a Smith & Wesson 4506 (.45 ACP) in a cheap, nylon holster (one quite unbecoming of a detective of Jim's experience and stature) but in this episode Jim begins carrying a Sig Sauer pistol, possibly a P220 (.45 ACP), in a quality holster.
