- A musician lives in a medieval community with his son, who is dependent on expensive medicines due to illness. One day he performs in the village square and the rheumatic wife of the local governor is deeply moved by the sounds he produces with his wonderful instrument. Back in the castle, she keeps nagging at her husband, the governor. She insists that this wonderful musician plays at their upcoming wedding anniversary party because she feels no pain when he plays. When the governor visits the musician at his home, it turns out that he is not at all pleased.
