I have read katha upanishad quite a few times.
& I must say this story has so much potential. Especially in today's materialistic world, when people are more and more forgetting the fire of Wisdom & Curiosity. Hence I was very excited to watch this movie.
(Before writing my feedback, I would say I agree that every person reads and Interprets story & Characters in his/her own way however I'm strictly talking with Creativity POV) So when movie starts, this boy walks for almost 10-13 mins in the forest. Only forest shots for 13+ Minutes. Seriously? This could have been so much useful to give his backstory, about the dialogue b/w him and his father. Him meditating, focusing and not just searching for Yam.
And the Yam, idk why but when i was reading the book, I pictured Yam as someone very energetic, while in this movie the persona of yam himself looks like he is on the edge of his own Death. So Dull.
It doesn't looks natural at all, It is all tried to made so pure and perfect, that it is no longer Raw n Natural.
If this is all due to low budget, there cud have been other options, even animated movie. So much creatively this could have been portrayed. I hope no one sees this movie before reading the book, as this can ruin whole impression and idea behind the story.
