"Wohin der Weg mich führt" is a romantic comedy with some dramatic aspects as well. Not only the two protagonists solve their issues, but it's also about struggles between brothers, about a young girl's first love (and her parents accepting the boy) and a couple more sub-plots. The director and writer have a great body of television work under their belts and same can be said about the two lead actors. However, the most known from the cast are probably supporting players Götz Otto and Jochen Nickel.

There are some cringeworthy moments "Sie lecken" early on and unfortunately as a whole the dialogs are not particularly convincing. So yeah, the comedy did not work in this at all. The drama sometimes worked. Also the camera work is mediocre at best and there was one scene (a web-cam chat), where it was particularly bad how they were constantly jumping from one angle to the other and back. Gehlen is pretty weak early on, but she gets better as the film progresses. The big transformation of her character early on already is not particularly credible though looking at how she was when the film began. This 90-minute film from 2.5 years ago is not one of the worst television films out there, but still there's nothing really memorable about it. Its biggest problem is maybe that none of the characters are likable/interesting enough to really have you glued to the screen. I never really cared what is going to happen to them next. Not recommended.
