Ted Lasso - A great Metaphor
Geekofriendly22 March 2023
"Ted Lasso" continues to be one of those shows that transcends its genre.

Most of the episodes contain barely any football matches, and yet, the stakes seem surprisingly high. The main characters are likeable, yet flawed, which of course makes them even more likeable. And each of them has a clear journey they're on.

And when they take steps towards achieving something, it feels supremely deserved. As if I can feel the rest of the viewers cheering them on as well.

"Ted Lasso" is a rare gem that we probably don't appreciate quite enough. I think it touched a nerve with the audience because it's sweet, sometimes sad, and always true. Which, I think, represents a life well lived.

This episode ticks off all the boxes
shayenu22 March 2023
Season 3 episode 2 is honestly one of my favorite episodes of the series entirely. It explores depth and emotions of almost all of our protagonists and takes them through some enticing development that keeps audiences engaged.

This episode reintroduces Trent Crimm, who I thought was brilliantly acted out by James Lance as he takes his character on a great journey- revealing a bit of his backstory and solidifying his relationships with others.

The story and plot of the episode is entirely character driven through their own emotional states, with no major (and barely minor) plot holes present.

Ultimately, season 3 episode 2 brings back the football, levels up on humor and for sure keeps you smiling throughout. Lets hope it stays like this as the season progresses.

Like a breath of fresh air

It seems the stage is prepared for Richmond to take it home this season. Apart from the story that makes me root for an imaginary football team, this show does a hell of a job to make the viewers emphasize with all the characters. It's just so damn well written. I was hoping to see Trent Crimm (Ex Independent) again and I'm glad to see his charming personality back on the screen. I feel we have a lot more to see in this season. Ted Lasso actually deserves it's Emmy's as it delivers more than a show, it delivers an experience. Nice breath of fresh air from all the superhero and psychopaths related shows.

A great emotional episode that we missed

Warning: Spoilers
It was a great episode to get prepared for the next episodes.

It was funny, emotional, entertaining and full of surprises. I can only wish it was a bit longer than it was.

We have seen a great development of character relationships.

The episode lesves you with an exceptional feeling of waiting for the next episode.

The acting by all actors were also very good and heart warming.

With this episode they put the expectatio s for the next ones at a very high level and I think that everyone watched this episode cant wait to see next ones.

It proves again why this is such a feel good show.

Amazing one "Sport!" ;)

The ball is rolling

The first two seasons were a joy, especially during a tumultuous time in our world. Filled with humor, emotion, romance and sport. Nathan's character arch into this season made me anxious as to how he would be portrayed in his new role as manager.

The first episode was slow but a stage setter. Every new television season needs one. The second episode solidified what is so great about this show. You have past characters being shed in a new light as well as great team building moments from Ted.

Roy continues to be an unhatable character as his pessimistic persona is shown a multitude of times to have empathy and a dry sense of humor beneath it. Rebecca is commanding as usual and the conflict between her and Rupert will be exciting to watch play out the rest of the season.

With two big additions to the Richmond squad, the groundwork has been set for a fun ride to the finish. This episode rekindled the joy from the previous two seasons and I look forward to watching Ted juggle the new team dynamics as well as seeing the other characters storylines follow along.

We're back
jayde1983-122 March 2023
So after last week's scene setter, this week felt like we were right back in the swing of all things Ted. Yet, there was a noticeable lack of Ted!

We're only 2 episodes in but there's a feeling that we could be setting up a future without Ted? Big focus on Roy today. Jamie continues his journey to mini-Ted and Rebecca brilliant.

I have my own theories on this season which I won't post but I just hope that even without Jason, this once in a lifetime programme will continue. It makes my heart burst every single week. The best TV programme since Sopranos (albeit very different)

Richmond for life x.

Ted Lasso was worth the promotion to the Premier league
darrantaylor26 March 2023
Ted Lasso is a very special show, it has high and low points but our household has been looking forwards to season 3 since the closing credits of season 2 - now we are 2 episodes in and I'm loving it.

The warm interesting characters we know and love from previous seasons are back, and the season seems well set up for future interest. Yes it's not perfect, yes some of it was clunky and a bit 'slapstick' but honestly who cares? Roy's warm ferocity, Ted's wisdom and humanity, born again Jamie, Coach Beard's stoic problem solving, Nate the greats ascent from madness (hopefully!) and Rebecca's strength and vulnerability and just all of the characters being who they are - it's comforting being back with them and I for one look forwards to the journey.

Ted Lasso - some of the best TV of the recent years!

Too Much Keely
Hitchcoc7 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is an interesting episode. Things are being built around the characters who have brought us here. As a matter of fact, their game against Chelsea would have been the high point of a past season. So enter more competition between Rebecca and her ex for domination, forgetting for a time that the production of the team is what is really what matters. So what happens is one of the greatest players in the sport (though rife with baggage) becomes available, it is assumed that Rupert will land him. The team is elated but now they have a new prima donna to deal with. Should be interesting. By the way, is anyone tired of Keeley and her business. It's like a dead spot in the middle of a really dynamic show. One other thing that makes this episode good is Roy's explanation about his past life with Chelsea and why he moved on.

Somewhat predictable?
askeland8922 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show always had the element of surprise but this episode was easy to see through. The humor is still here and it's cool to see Trent getting a more central role in the show but I pretty much knew exactly how this episode was gonna play out. I knew for a fact that Richmond was never gonna lose to Chelsea and I knew that Zava would sign with them the second his name came up.. And the subplot with Keeley and her new career is kinda boring and uninspired. I still love this show and the first episode was quite good but this episode in particular did not impress me. Looking forward to see what direction it will take from here.

Really hope this is a turning point
lakesteakpb29 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode aims to introduce new characters to the Ted Lasso universe while highlighting some failed relationships from established characters. We learned about Roy and Keeley's breakup in the last episode, and the choice to have it covered again in such a dramatized way (Coach Beard can be seen fainting when news breaks out to the team) makes the writing feel more Disney Channel than a professional show made for adults. The spotlight is on Zava this episode, who's one of the hottest names in football in the show and is on the prowl for a new team to play for. On the surface he seems nearly identical to Jamie in season 1, but here's hoping that the show can find a way to make his role in Richmond interesting. The scene of fans chanting for Roy at Chelsey before transitioning to cheering for Zava shows there's a new sheriff in town, and I'm excited to see where it goes. 6/10.

There is no way those 10 star reviews are real
jaedence-4331625 March 2023
My wife and I have watched season 1 and 2 maybe 3 times.

We watched the first episode of season 3 and then went back and watched the first two seasons again. The show is fantastic.

Season 3 episode one was kind of tame and lame. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good by any stretch.

We watched episode 2 of season 3 this morning and it was terrible.

Whoever wrote it gave the vibe of "Ted Lasso? That's a pretty typical whacky sitcom right? Sure, I can write that."

Jokes that repeated and never died, intentional dumb confusion about situations and words, a lot of toilet humor and juvenile jokes.

New storylines that seem cringe, predictable and not needed.

Just awful.

I feel like this going to be like Game of Thrones season 8 based on the first two episodes of this season.

Episode 302
bobcobb3018 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The overall charm of this show appears ot be gone and part of that is due to giving so much time to Keeley. Her meteoric rise does not make a lick of sense, but all the scenes of her in the office are absolutely brutal to watch. The scripts may be fine, but she just does not have the delivery.

But I did like Roy opening up about the initial bad article from Trent Crimm and then about the end of his run at Chelsea. They didn't really explain how he went from considering retirement to going to AFC Richmond, but that is a minor thing we can overlook at the expense of a powerful scene, one long overdue.
