To mix things up for its 15th annual edition, the TromaDance film festival has moved! (Yet again.) This year, the grotesque festivities will take place on June 27-28 at The Paper Box art space in Brooklyn, NY and will include loads of short films and four features.
The features are: Drew Bolduc‘s hotly anticipated Science Team, the follow-up to his masterful exercise in offensiveness, The Taint; the acclaimed penile documentary The Final Member by Jonah Bekhor and Zach Math; Olivier Beguin’s new twist on vampirism, Chimeres; and the fighting cannibal action of Evil Feed by Ray Smith.
The short films include international offensiveness and gore from such far-flung places as Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Australia and, of course, the good ol’ U.S. of A.
The full TromaDance lineup is below. For more info, please visit the fest’s official website.

Here's a fun concept for a short film involving dogs and zombies executed by directors Andres and Diego Meza Valdes after raising $6,000 on Kickstarter. The 18-minute short is called Play Dead, and it follows a pack of dogs trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. It's interesting to see a zombie movie from the point of view of a bunch of dogs.
Here's the Synopsis:
A zombie apocalypse unites a ragtag pack of dogs in the ruined streets of Miami. Immune to the epidemic, they must stick together to survive in the midst of ferocious undead and human survivors in this unauthorized sequel to "Homeward Bound." Sit. Stay. Play dead...
Watch the short and let us know what you like and/or don't like about the movie. Would you be interested in seeing a feature film version of this?

As Sheffield’s premier horror film festival, Celluloid Screams, gears up for its fourth year of delivering the scares this October 26th-28th, we got word on the first batch of announced screenings taking place amidst a packed programme of previews, special guests and more. Check it out!
Feature Films
Special Event: Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut
(UK/USA) – Dir. Clive Barker / Restoration Director. Russell Cherrington
The turbulent production of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed is the stuff of legend, and the film released in 1990 was a far cry from Barker’s original novella, with many significant scenes excised by the film’s producers. Presumed lost for over twenty years, the footage surfaced in the form of two separate workprints and has been integrated with scenes from the original theatrical version to create The Cabal Cut – a fully fleshed-out monster epic that captures Clive Barker’s original vision in vivid detail.
