Sarah Winslow, when asked about a skull in her bag she calls it a "fossil", then later a "humanoid" ancestor. Technically it is a fossil, (which literally means "something dug up") but any paleontologist would call it a skull, not a fossil. And it's a hominid ancestor (any primate -- man or great ape), not a humanoid, which is a term used mainly in sci-fi when referencing something that's human looking, like a robot or an ET type creature.
