Sam gets married!
zombiehigh181 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Here is what I think Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin had in mind writing this episode, "Why not tease some fan girls by making one of the boys, aka Sam, get married and have him say some romantic crap and act utterly weird, then have him tied pantless to a bed, While doing a crossroads daemon episode, I bet the fan girls would start screaming to the fantasy"

OK I can't deny I liked the idea of one of the guys getting married, I even laughed at Sam's out of character bizarre behaviour, Jared seemed to have fun doing that, Plus I think that loop hole daemon idea was clever and I loved the exploding wedding cake title card.

But still I can't even get my self to like this episode for 4 main reasons:

1- Becky, I think adding a character like Becky was nice but for only once, then the writers decided to bring her back on season five's "The Real Ghostbusters" again, OK this I could still handle, but bringing her for the third time! No, that is too much. I don't know what the writers are trying to tell us through this very annoying character? Becky is a pathetic loser who drugged and kidnapped Sam, She also did the ultimate mistake by trying to separate the brothers and I'm supposed to feel sorry for her? and is this the way the writers see the fans? Are we that pathetic to them? I remember asking the same question on "The Real Ghostbusters" and then I told myself this is the creators idea to poke fun about everything even fans, but it should have been a one time show and I totally can't stand characters like her any more. So please Supernatural creators be smart about it and end this stupid actions.

2- I liked DJ Qualls. Garth was an extraordinary character, he was just different from most hunters we got to see on the show who were mostly dicks. (Add him to the list of weird people Bobby Knows!) But I don't understand why Dean needed his help in the first place and why bring such a talent to be wasted. Garth didn't add anything to the case and he missed all the action later.

3- So Crowley is now talking about integrity! Yeah right! Since I only recall last season when he refused to return Bobby's soul by manipulating the terms of the contract. Integrity! You just got to be kidding.

4- Finally, I always liked the brotherly heart to heart by the car and I even said that their relationship is getting more mature and I made that point clearly on how they dealt with each other last episode but this episode really feels like a regression. First, For Dean to let his brother go with the so called bride was very stupid and felt unreal, because for someone who is supposed to know his little brother more than anything he should have suspected Sam was under some kind of spell and focus more on saving his brother even if that meant spying on him (He did that for Bobby before for God's sake!) especially that he knows Sam (even if he was that new well adjusted Sam) would never do the "life is too short crap" and marry someone like Becky and especially Becky! Ugh! Second, The talk in the end about how Sam doesn't need Dean to worry about him was overdone and we heard that talk before so so so many times and Sam, Please you know your brother's only job is to care for you, and judging by the look that was on Dean's face, he doesn't even know how to care for himself, so stop asking him for things he can't do. Dean's existence revolves around caring about others, so where are we supposed to get from the talk? is the bond getting stronger or weaker? I'm confused and angry.

Consumers' Confidence
claudio_carvalho25 January 2013
Dean is resting in Las Vegas and out of the blue, he receives the invitation for Sam's wedding. Further, the wife-to-be is Becky Rosen. Dean is sure that there is some sort of black magic involved but he cannot prove or find any evidence.

Meanwhile there are two freak murders in the city and Bobby sends the odd hunter Garth Fitzgerald IV to team up with Dean. Soon they discover that the demon Guy is luring his victims with greedy pacts to get their souls in fake accidents.

"Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!" is a strange episode where Sam gets married with Becky. The plot is uneven, but when Crowley appears and talks about consumers' confidence, he definitely saves the show. My vote is seven.

Funny parody of crazy female fans
shwetafabm23 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I wrote a whole thing but it might have words that were not allowed so here goes again I started rewatching this show and discovered the online fanbase and all and my god was it a but creepy. Some of it was downright uncomfortable and insane. I like Becky and i think the writers were trying to embody the crazy fans who are obsessed with the actors looks and lives. As for the whole downplaying the consent thing ya this show has a problem with Sam being a saint. He acts sweet to her even after what she did. This isn't just a Sam problem, this type of character is supposed to take a lot of abuse and misfortune in their lives and still be forgiving and empathetic. Daniel in stargate sg-1 for example was made addicted to a sarcophagus by an alien, after a bad recovery he goes and comforts her. The stargate episode is way way darker and clearee than this one. This stuff would hopefully not fly if gender was reversed so yes double standards and character stereotypes. Sam also as a character gets the most violated in terms of boundaries being crossed, by Dean too. The show has never handaled consent seriously, the alien thing in S2 and S6, "micheal waiting for me to drop the soap" as said by dean, demon r*pe as said by Dean for the monsters they take to Crowley, season 6 still alluded to it seriously tho. Enjoyable episode tho, i just think people should be aware of these things, not condemning the episode for it.

Sam in love
tenshi_ippikiookami16 June 2017
We have got one of the funny episodes in this eight one of season 7. And we, the fans, are the luckiest for it, because "Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!" is a blast.

Sam is marrying... Becky. Yes, that a little bit too enthusiastic Becky. And he seems to be extremely happy, blissful. Dean, of course, knows something is awry.

What we get from here is a very funny episode, with a simple but enthralling story-line, filled with silly moments, Sam being over- the- top in love and Dean having to share his time with a new partner. From DJ Qualls as Dean's temporal partner, to Emily Perkins's Becky, everyone does a great job. And the meta moments are also a hilarious.

It is great to have some light episodes like this one that are also engaging and have some tongue-in-cheek moments for the fans, constantly winking at them.

And what's with that beard, Crowley????
vered-shmilovich13 November 2011
OK we had our fun, took a nice 2 episodes break from this whole Leviathans thing, but hey - quit fooling around and go back to business. There is work to be done and we need some action. Go and Kick some big bed Leviathans' asses... But for the meanwhile i got to ask - which one of the show producers lost enough money in Wall-street to locate it even under Hell? Not that it is completely baseless :-) The best quota of the episode belongs of course to my favorite demon Crowley, that manged to make the fact of hell being just a bit better then Stock-market pretty logical: "This isn't Wall Street, this is Hell. We have a little something called integrity." couldn't agree more, Crowley - and i really missed you but please dude... TAKE THAT STUPID BEARD OFF!!!!

Rapey but otherwise pretty good
CubsandCulture16 April 2020
The Crowley scene and the double crossing crossroads demon are some of the best demon stuff in the entire show. Love the line about how hell isn't wall street. Likewise the episode is failing entertaining on its own terms and the wedding-Becky stuff is funny. As long as you don't think about it

Unfortunately it is also off putting if you think too much about it. There is a sexual assault vibe that goes with Sam getting drugged. The episode even acknowledges this to a large degree but it never really recognizes just how bad Becky was. The writers course correct on this point in season 15 but that feels too little too late when re-watching this episode today. Moreover, Becky's actions are really sinister and they are not treated that way. This is an malformed episode that is very frayed as it relates to the real world.

Can you imagine if the roles were reversed?
vn_larsen126 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The show would have been cancelled the next day if this episode was about Sam continuously drugging Becky, marrying her, knocking her unconscious, then tying her to a bed and undressing her. How is this not a bigger deal? People think this is funny?

The 3 stars is for the Crowley scene.

Demon - "Oh crap" Dean - "Yeah you are in a world of it" Crowley - "Hello boys" Dean - "Oh crap"

Why would you bring Becky back?
snwbatz3 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is definitely the worst episode of Season 7 and there are a lot of bad episodes to from. Not only was the idea of this episode bad but it brings back of the most annoying and hated characters in Supernatural history BECKY! That really hurts the episode. But also the idea of Sam being under a love potion is just ridiculous. There is also this subplot about people who sold they're soul but there being killed early. Which is really there just to give this episode a reason to exist. Honestly there are only two episodes in the show that are worse than this episode that being Bloodlines and Mannequin 3: The Reckoning.

Wedding..seriously?

Warning: Spoilers
Another bad episode...Damn it, writers!

First I saw this is about Becky, i was sincerely terrified. This girl is totally annoying. And of course my expectations were right. After "maybe funny" beginning this episode was another piece of ... . Seriously stupid plot about Sam's wedding...Dean only a bit suspicious, he even brings waffle iron to him and then works with Garth. OK, he was funny guy, but unlike Fred, totally to nothing. IMHO Dean would bind Sam for his good and then he would "talk" to the "Bride" his way. He would look for hex bags as well and I think he would really at least check her bag... As it 's said, the speech of Sam was inappropriate. He should know Dean much more better than that..Do the writers know the characters?

The only thing I did enjoy was Crowley and his attitude to the demon who broke the rules. Because in his new hell, everything has its order!

And the second good thing - end of the Amy-story line...

Stereotypical nonsense
blackmagpie-6236821 May 2018
I am really lost for words with this one. A very uninspired episode offering nothing new or nothing novel. It is like a bad spin off episode of "Hangover" but at least Hangover offered a few laughs. This episode brings nothing but embarrassment and cringe to the table with Becky unstable and predictable; she should have been arrested and sent to prison. Garth being Garth and offering nothing, oh dear oh dear. Humiliating to watch and OK to give this episode a miss.
