Mediocre at best...
Taylor9521 September 2013
One of the biggest problems with this movie is that none of the characters are likable. It begins with Franky (who suffers from a serious case of OCD) and Maia driving out to Franky's house where most of the movie takes place. Franky is a photographer and Maia, her subject for the weekend. The movie is spliced between scenes of Franky and Maia getting to know one another and of a man and his therapist, discussing whether he is violent and how miserable he is because his marriage is unraveling. You aren't sure how these two sets of characters are connected until the final scene.

Overall it feels very disjointed. I gave it four stars because there was some interesting character development on the part of Franky, it was just unfortunate that there seemed to be little that was redeeming in any of the characters. I thought Laura-Martin Simpson did a decent job as Franky...who is meant to be off-putting.

Very disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
Don't know what the director was thinking. None of these characters are likable. The model appears to be ditzy, lost, in her own head and has this sort of innocence. While the photographer comes off having OCD, a bit odd and maybe even aggravated most times, mysterious. You don't know who to root for and there's lack of explanation for most of what's happening and it doesn't get resolved in the end (at least not in a way that makes sense), so if you plan to view this movie keep in mind that you won't find closure over most of the confusing events that happen. The character build is weak. One moment you find yourself understanding why one character does one thing and then you end up being completely lost by something else that they do later on, terrible. The ending made me very upset because it ends in THE worst way possible. Again, you will be confused and there will be no explanation for what you just saw. This movie is a complete disaster.

A thriller with a capital F

I really don't give if the actors or the writing of this feature film are ugly, it is really difficult to understand, however to the actors as a vote I would give a 0/10 while I would give 0.2/10 to the writing of the film, I am also sure that Those who wrote this film maybe also think they have created a thriller at the Hitchcock, with that useless ending like the rest of the film, and then I think that it is enough to make an excellent movie but then they are lost in themselves, they are probably still looking for To understand things gone wrong, the only good thing are the first 10 minutes, the rest is totally disgust.

I NEED MY SPACE
nogodnomasters28 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Maia (Ione Butler) is a model who wants to remake herself. She trust herself to Frankie (Laura Martin-Simpson) a photographer who takes her to her secluded home own by the Shellys. Frankie is compulsively meticulous. She has desires for Maia who she convinces to spend the weekend.

Maia is having issue with her husband and says, "I need my space." We know what that means guys. Meanwhile there is a subplot of a man (Jake Maskall) talking to a transgender looking psychologist (Caroline Burns Cooke) about life and love. He is apparently connected to one of the two women, but we don't know who or how.

The film consists mostly of Frankie attempting to seduce Maia, interrupted by a guy talking to a shrink. The production awkwardly comes together at the end.

The acting was fair. The story didn't move. I didn't really care about any of the characters. I enjoyed watching Frankie putting everything back in its place after Maia moved it an inch...and the fact she sleeps nude.

A mediocre Indie stye rental.

Parental Guide: F-bomb F/F sex nudity (Laura Martin-Simpson, Ione Butler)
